LR005 Day 5

Today's dynamic is ....."Blissful Productivity"

Playing games is .... you know... fun!

Today the 'Audio pupils' learnt to use new software on the iPad. This enabled them to decide which tool suited their style and performance best. They then spent the day learning and refining their performance. Some used RJDJ Voyager, some used LoopJ and other used Groovemaker to perform live beats and riffs.

The 'VJ pupils' concentrated on choosing their selection of visual clips and effects and laying out their performance. They chose which projector surface they wanted to use (wall, ceiling) and practiced their performance.

The 'Dance' pupils learnt a new transition piece to enable them to respond at any time to the music or visuals. They structured and rehearsed their movements into small named sections that they could stitch together in any order for the performance.

Today ended when the pupils performed to a small audience of teachers, children and parents.

LR005 Day 4

Today's dynamic is... "Appointment Dynamic"

Today the pupils learnt about being in the right place at the right time. For our performance, timing is key, so we rehearsed all together practicing changing visuals, sound and dance all at the right time for maximum performance effect.

LR005 Day 3

Today's dynamic is... "Communal Discovery"

We've played 'Team Tails Tag' outside, bounced balls on parachutes and worked together to make towers out of paper. We've also jammed out rehearsed VJ sets with live iPad performances on Interactive LoopJ and RJDJ Voyager.

LR005 Day 2

Today's dynamic is... "Progression Dynamic"

We have introduced a leaderboard, and all of the the players are being given plenty of opportunities to level up.

LR005 Day 1

Our two week summer residency at Aldermoor Farm Primary School in Coventry has begun today. As ever, we're not entirely sure what we will have made together by the end of these two weeks, but hopefully it will take shape here.

The focus of this project is to explore the nature of games. In order to get the 'juices flowing' each day we are introducing one game dynamic to the young people involved in the project.

Today's dynamic is 'Modifiers'...
