A refreshing seafood salad you wouldn't want to miss, Octopus Salad is an easy dish to prepare and will be a great addition to any table.
In Lumiere’s Level 2 Pop’n Sweet Cafe story, MC and the ambiguously gay duo butcher a clearly intelligent octopus trying to escape with its life. Lumiere mentions that the octopus is boiled and how MC marinated it later on to create Octopus Salad.
In the Pop’n Sweet image, the octopus appears to be on a bed of what looks like yellow squash or lemon. The recipe isn’t specific on what sort of vegetables you should use in the salad, only that adding boiled potatoes turns it into a sort of Italian regional dish.
Apart from the description of health benefits that eating this dish brings (for you, not the octopus), I very much appreciate this recipe’s detail in what parts of the octopus to remove in addition to where those body parts are located. It really calls to the imagination of what happened between the scenes when they cleaned up the ink and MC, the animal lover, had just about enough of the octopus’s self-preservation bullshit.
Now I’m a happy meat eater, but when your food foils various attempts to cook it and utilizes cunning to escape you then maybe you should just let the octopus win and instead order takeout?
