Normally, Ian could stay calm when his emotions were strong, but he was clearly angry after having so many problems during the day, in short, it wasn't a good day. However, after having a small conversation with Danbi on the phone, he concluded that the day was over and he could start again the next day. The man went straight to her place after work instead of his house because they agreed to have dinner together: instant ramen —nothing fancy but comforting—.

The meal was fulfilling and lifted his mood, of course, the conversation helped too, but he wasn't entirely relaxed. He sat down on the couch and sighed, his bottom lip sticking out as he reviewed his day. Danbi grabbed his hand and stood in front of him. "Thank you for the meal," he said with a smile, lacing their fingers gently. She knew. She was aware. She took the matter into her own hands and sat on his lap.

He chuckled sheepishly, looking away because to have her so close made him blush. Ian's eyes returned to her, his free hand resting on her cheek, then leaned forward to be as close to her as possible. "Will you?"

The name of the food was fun to pronounce, but he imagined a steamed bun or a round fluffy bread. Not only was he wrong, but he was far from what Natto actually was.

Ian tilted his head a little when Junhui pulled out two square packages from a bag. There was still a chance of finding something resembling bread inside the package, but the chopsticks confused him. The man needed to feed his curiosity and grabbed one of them as Jun opened the other.

Beans? The smell was strong, and it got stickier when the other mixed them with the sauce from another packet. "Is it salty?" He asked, glancing up at Jun, who confirmed it with a nod and held up a bit for him to try. "Mm…" Not knowing how to describe the flavor, he asked the other to feed him some more. "The texture is strange," he said with a chuckle. "But it's not bad. It must taste better with rice."

"You can't send me the location…?" Ian scratched the back of his head as he listened to Danbi's explanation about the poor signal and the unclear map in rural areas. He made sure to carefully note her directions, repeating them back to ensure he got everything right. "Alright, wait for me there."

Ian's concern deepened as he drove, parking the car as close as he could to the abandoned place where she sought refuge from the rain. He walked carefully, avoiding slipping on the wet ground as he searched for her in the darkness, relying solely on the light from his phone. Spotting her, he waved with a warm smile, his eyes turning into crescents. "Danbi!" he called out, opening his arms as she hurried over. "How did you end up here…?" Ian asked gently, letting her bury her face in the crook of his neck. "Feeling tired? I'll take you home," he offered softly, holding her for a moment before gently taking her hand.

Ian arrived home with slumped shoulders and dragging feet after his boss noticed he wasn't feeling well and sent him back home. It was easy to tell when there was even a slight inconvenience with him because of his usually bubbly and carefree spirit. He didn't argue or protest, but just nodded and packed his things to go back home.

Ian felt relieved when he finally touched his bed and fell asleep in a few minutes. He was woken up by the sound of his phone, which seemed to be part of his dreams, but he answered it without even checking the name on the screen. It was Danbi… Danbi!

Ian sat up, touching his forehead when he remembered they were supposed to meet, but soon realized his face was burning. She noticed he was sick by the tone of his voice, and before he knew it, she was on her way to his house.

She brought him medicine and food and monitored his fever. Ian refused to take off his face mask but still rested his head on her lap while lying on the couch. Her fingers ran through his hair as the cold, wet cloth soothed his forehead. The medicine would take effect quickly if he had some more sleep. "Thank you for being here..."
