He is BANG on here. White Supremacy depends absolutely on #storytelling to 'sell' its message that black people are 'thugs' and 'looters' and 'angry, unreasonable, ill-educated' etc. White Supremacy turns people of colour into ANTAGONISTS and white people into heroes, the 'ideal' of society as its PROTAGONISTS ... So when black people are murdered by white cops, the blame is placed back on the victim every time. Black people never get the benefit of the doubt 🙄🤔😫 . . Even when Black people succeed they are exceptionalised as being 'one of the good ones' and 'not like the rest' or even held up as weaponised examples of how racism 'no longer exists' 🤮😱🤮 . . As #writers, we need to robustly REJECT White Supremacy's bogus narrative. We cannot allow it to piggyback into our #writing and prop up society's sick racist BS any longer.
