u probs dont remember but i send u an anon a couple months ago saying how ur fic "love songs for robots" helped me when i was confused w/ my sexuality n i just wanted u to know ive since then have come to terms w/ being grey-romantic spectrum n im comfortable using that as an umbrella term rather than to have 1 specific label bc i feel that'd limit me on who & how i could love. anyway incoherent ramble alert!! thanks is all i wanted to say really, ur answer helped answer helped a lot at the time

1. i belieVE it was the conversation ending with “robots are rad as fuck, anyway”??? i mean, i’m kinda over the whole ace/aro thing now, like i’m still ace/aro but i’m fine w that and i know that there are identities facing more prejudice etc (altho prejudice against ace/aro still exists...) but yeah i think it was quite an uplifting thing to hear MYSELF say, and to hear said in general. :’) don’t apologise abt asking!! i love the fact ur curious!! 2. it did stem from the song i think the inspo did as a whole because the title fits very well with the moral?? at the same time, tho, it was a long time ago and i can’t quite remember lmao but yeah i’m p sure it was that!!! thank u so much!!

oh god it was so long ago. um. if anything, the song “love songs for robots” by patrick watson, ‘cause that’s what gave me the idea!! other than that, just calming comforting stuff!

i guess that ace/aro was a thing, and they do experience alienation (even if there’s discourse surrounding it, and tbh if ur cishet ace/aro i can get why!! but this was specifically ace/aro. so. no het.) also that platonic friendship is just as important as romance a lot of the time, and it isn’t, like, a stand in or compromise for having a lover.

15:WHAT DID YOU LEARN FROM WRITING THIS FIC?

i think i explored my feelings of it by writing this? also it was one of my first #bighits so i guess i learned about my writing style and audience because of it!!

love songs for robots is literally my favourite fanfiction to have ever existed and so i wanted this to be like eloquent and properly articulate how much it means to me but no ive read it a dozen times and every time it gets better and after reading it again just now im on the verge of tears cause ive been so confused for so long and this fic makes me feel somewhat adequate and ive read so many aro/ace/qpr things but nothing quite affects me as much as this so i just wanted to thank you honestly

I just wanted to say love songs for robots is my fav fanfic ever and I've read it multiple times. It's very very well written and as an aro ace phanatic its perfect. I would not be upset if you wrote aroace Dan &/or Phil fics for the rest of eternity
