For the 80th anniversary of D-Day, one of the few surviving ships from the invasion fleet, the USS LST-510, which is shown here in these photos around 1944 and in 2020. The ship landed tanks at Normandy, and after the war it was converted into civilian use as a ferry. Now named the Cape Henlopen, it still operates daily, carrying passengers and vehicles between Long Island and New London, Connecticut.
