Hey Sea. Okay it's VERY well established that LTHQ does nothing but post gifs that we already have and photoshoots we've already analyzed. But I want to talk about the post LTHQ just posted: "What is Louis thinking of?" At least on Insta, I'd say 50% of comments were "Harry", 40% were album/song related, and 10% was misc. If LTHQ is a direct line from management to control Louis' image and try to get in with the fans, do you think they planted this post with that type of question on purpose? 1/2
Continued: In particular, I think perhaps as a way to gauge how many Larries are still active. Let’s be real, even if the 1D fandom and therefore Larry fandom is shrinking, posts with open-ended questions like that usually have a high yield of response. Eleanor also posted the photo with a gag-worthy caption of Louis on Insta. Perhaps they asked that question to see how many people are buying Elounor, and how many vocal fans are Larries. Maybe they’ll try to spin his image off of it? More stunts now? 2/2_______________
It’s interesting, isn’t it? Eleanor posted Louis’ photo to her own Insta, but Louis posted nothing for her, his beloved girlfriend and the sole pillar of his support.
(A photo that, in my opinion, given the lighting and angle, the practiced pose, the editing that is completely different from her other photos— was shot by a professional)
Initially, I had hoped that LTHQofficial was a way for Louis to take some control of his own PR. Now it seems to be perhaps a way to gauge fan investment, to measure us in some way.
The fact that @Louis tweeted about pancake day, and then Rusty immediately posted pancakes to his insta, shows me that he hears and knows all of Louies’ frustrations, and is mocking us. He’s laughing at us.
Is LTHQ mocking us too? I mean, given the open hostility Louis’ fans have toward his team, such an open-ended question was bound to have predictable answers such as you described.
So why ask it in the first place? The answers make his team look bad, right?
Throughout the year, Larries have been painted in a bad light, with Louis himself, in his first solo interview, denying Larry. Calculated attempts have been made to erase the person Louis was prior to 2015. Yet Larries run his charity, organize streaming, run his fan projects. Larries promote and vote for him in fan-voted awards.
Larries, like Louis, are a thorn in Simon’s side. No matter how he tries to bury us, some still survive.
We must irk him so much.
The silence is also to starve us of content. People aren’t active because nothing is happening. But if 1D reunited and announced a tour for 2019, my guess is fandom would come alive, and shows would sell out in minutes.
So yes, they can troll all they want, and it might look like fandom is dead. But if they came back, the fandom would explode.
