hi!! floralith.xyz — who i am, what this is, and everything in between 💜

hey everyone. blorblegoop (he/they) here (you might also know me as PotentialAd943 on Reddit, or luminesc1ence on Discord). i've been lurking and watching all the posts and comments referencing my little site, and i figured it was finally time to actually show up and say something

who am i?

i'm a 20 year old computer science student. i made floralith because i was genuinely tired of every emulation download site being an absolute nightmare! ads everywhere, sketchy redirects, missing files, broken steps, and download speeds that made me want to cry (i already have spotty internet!) - i wanted a simple and reputable place where someone could go, download the game and all needed files, and have a small guide on what to do with it!

some of you have been (rightfully) suspicous because my reddit account is new and my online presence is pretty sparse. that's fair! i use my account as a lurking account for things i'm interested in! i didn't want to tie this project to my personal accounts that have lots of private information about me. this tumblr is actually a little outside my comfort zone. hi.

is the site safe?

yes. i promise.

the site is hosted and maintained entirely by me. it sits behind Cloudflare (so your connection is protected), and every single download is gated behind a captcha to block bots and bad actors. i have personally scanned every file i'm hosting more times than i can count, and i will not update to newer versions of anything until i've done it again.

how do i know this? i verified it myself. see below.

the following picture is the analysis result from the floralith hosted NSP, using a reputable cleaner / scanner (NSC_Builder)

what am i looking at?

this is the scan result for the NSP hosted here. everything important passes, including decryption and file hashes, which means the data itself is intact. the only flag is in signature verification, where some parts aren’t fully verifiable and show as modified. this is common with repacked files (which this nsp is, as it was taken from the eShop and made into an nsp) but still something to be aware of. overall it looks safe, just not perfectly clean.

the next picture is the scan results from an NSP I found online, scanned using the same tool:

same results, same hashes. both files scan mostly clean, and were also scanned using other tools, such as hactool.

stop using the file immediately. run a full malware scan (either windows full scan or malwarebytes deep scan) and message me on discord (@/luminesc1ence) with what happened, what you downloaded, and what flagged it.

why is the site slow?

it can happen for a multitude of reasons! (no, you aren't being hacked if it's going slow). the main reason currently, is that this site has attracted WAY more traffic than i thought it would, and the server is getting hammered! bandwidth is expensive, so i'm working on a fix that improves download speed for all and improves cost for me in the long run. *in the time the site has been up, it has used almost 10TB worth of bandwidth!! insane!!*

if the site has helped you and you want to support it, there's a "buy me a coffee" link at the top of the page. it goes directly back into keeping this website alive! that being said, i will always keep this site ad free and paywall free until i am unable to keep it up at all. i made it for other nerds like me who wanna make silly miis.

what's next for floralith?

i have a much larger collection of clean, personally scanned nsps taht i've been building up for my own use for a while. the plan is to expand the site into something with more games, better organization, and a smoother experience overall. each game will have dedicated instructions for that game, with different guides for different emulators. but that's in the future.

common questions!

"does it work on mobile/android/phone?" - switch emulation needs some decent umpf to work properly, the most portable you can realistically get right now is a steamdeck or some other form of handheld (rog ally, etc).

"the game keeps crashing on startup" - usually a firmware issue. try reinstalling the firmware zip using "install (.xci or .zip)" NOT "install folder". if that doesn't help, try firmware 21.0.0. if it still crashes, your CPU might have enough cores, try looking into PPTC settings.

"ryujinx is slow / graphics are weird" - try switching between vulkan and opengl in graphics settings. for older nvidia cards, opengl usually works better.

"no application found in selected file" - easy fix! the best way to solve this is to make a dedicated folder to put your nsps, and load them into ryujinx from there.

in ryujinx, click on settings, on the general page, there will be a box on the right that says game directories. click on the add button, navigate to the folder with your nsp in it, and click select folder. your game should appear on the main menu!

ALRIGHT!!!!!!!!! I like being upfront and honest with you all, so let me be blunt: the past two parts I was a pretty big grouch. I don't know why, but the last 3 days I've just felt really down and "out of it", and I think that was reflected in my Quitland posts. I might've seemed a little more negative then usual. But today? TODAY?!?!? It's time for some REAL Quitting! I feel much better, so let's hop right to it shall we?

There was no post yesterday because there really was absolutely nothing that happened. Well, technically there were two things, but only one of them was a real development. Let's start with the lesser of the two:

29 has a crush on 32. Another random crush between two kinda random Quits, but I'm feeling positive today! Maybe these two will become a totally awesome pair later? Or maybe we don't need them to...because...

Wow, now THAT'S a throwback, huh? I actually had someone ask about 18 and 12 today, and I hadn't answered specifically because I didn't want to spoil this! For those who may have forgotten, 18 fell for 12 WAAAAAY back in Part 3, and since then they hadn't done much besides become good friends. But today 18 finally decided to confess!

And it worked! The hot Bikini Quit X aloof Nerd Quit Yaoi is real! Hope we see more of them, I've always liked 18 and 12 but never really got to talk about them. Oh, and 12 is wearing a beanie now. After that we got one more romantic development that actually happened today instead of yesterday:

Another one I can't say much on, since neither Quit is too notable. But! Again! Positive!

Alright, now for a bit of a random detour (the best parts of these posts): hair! Recently there's been a hair style BOOM in Quitland, many Quits asking to change their hair. It was all started by Quit 15 and his shocking brown hair a few days ago but now we've got a whole small army of newly haired Quits. So many that I don't think I could give them each their own photo, so I put 'em all together!

From left to right, we have: Quit 7, 15, 39, 41, 58, and...9?

9 is the Quit that had his heart utterly crushed by 30 a few parts back, and you might be confused as to why he's here considering his hair is no different. Well...it's kinda confusing. But we'll talk about him in a moment, first let's address the (other) elephant in the room: Quit 39! Many of you know and love Quit 39, and if you don't recognize that number it's because I frequently refer to them as a different name: Biker Quit! A member of the beloved ICSS, who's going out with her fellow ICSS member Chicken Quit! Now she has this absolutely ROCKIN' red hair, and I'm TOTALLY in love with it. It fits her biker outfit amazingly, she might be the most stylish Quit on the island now?!? Sorry 11. OK now let's address 9. See, 9 had asked to change his hair a day or so ago, and I obviously accepted. But when I checked on him the day after...his hair wasn't changed at all, and instead all he had done is take his hat off. Really weird. I'm guessing he had rolled to change his hair but had just landed on the hair style he already had, which seems to have kinda confused the game into taking his hat off but not changing his hair or treating it as a hair change. If my theory is true, this is an absolutely hilarious edge-case that I kinda can't believe made it through testing. Still, I wanted to include him in the "changed hair gang" because it felt wrong otherwise. He changed his hair...just...into the exact same hair he had before. Technically counts! ...OK...enough talking about hair and random relationship stuff! I've been avoiding it this WHOLE post, and I KNOW you ALL have been thinking about it...

I'm sure you all know what this message means...today, at the early early time of 7 AM in the morning...

Today, our beloved pairing of 28 x 48...whom we've watched develop since day 1...finally gave us our very first Quit baby!!!

Now to address some quick questions before we delve into it, I had some rules about babies. I'll make it quick since most of them are pretty obvious. I DID NOT CHANGE ANYTHING ABOUT THE BABY! I let the game decide the gender, design, personality, voice, etc and did not change a SINGLE thing*. Obviously we wanted to see how a Quit baby would differ from the 60 identical clones, so changing anything about the baby would completely deny one of the core ideas of this series! *OK I actually did change two things but you'll understand why in a moment

Alright let's get into it!!! Let's see what the little bugger looks like!

It ended up being a boy! Now don't be alarmed by the strange face, once they grew up their face was identical to the other Quits. Which I guess is to be expected when both parents have the same face...but that doesn't mean they don't have OTHER differences...

Now, at the time of writing this, the voting for what we name baby Quits hasn't finished. But it only has 30 minutes left...so it seems as though Quitlings has won! I'll make a more put-together post about it tomorrow morning, but it seems as though this babies name will be "Quitling 1"! For now though, the Quits named the baby...and we got...

"Jo"...I'm gonna be honest...it's pretty cute. So cute that I kinda want to keep it in some way...someone in the comments of the naming poll said we could combine the Quit-given name with "Quitling" or "Quitten" and I'm pretty fond of that idea, so this would be "Quitling Jo" instead of "Quitling 1". But I dunno, what do you guys think?

I'm so happy for them...and I've got the ENTIRE baby montage to put in this post!

I SERIOUSLY recommend watching it to the end, because it includes the reveal of what Jo sounds like and...well...let's just say he definitely doesn't sound like the other Quits.

Alright, now that Jo is born and grown up, let's talk a little more about the tyke. We ALL have had MANY questions on what a Quit baby would be like, so it's time to answer a few! If you watched the video to the end you'd have already seen this, but Jo is actually NOT the same personality type as the other Quits! He was born with a different personality entirely, that being...

Outgoing Charmer! Wow, its like he's the polar opposite of the other Quits...this will DEFINITELY be a much welcome change of pace to Quitland. You might've also noticed that his hair seems to be the only visual difference between him and the Quits (well, besides the pink shirt). He seems to be the same size, weight, and face as the Quits. At least I couldn't see any differences, maybe his face is just a tad bigger? We'll need more Quit babies for more research on if a Quit child can have a different face than its parents. Jo here seems to imply they won't, but a single example could just be a coincidence.

The only change I made to it was giving Jo all 3 possible dating preferences and the two event outfit options. These are the two things I changed that I mentioned earlier, and I hope you guys can understand why lol. Actually...speaking about that...here's another question I haven't even thought to ask yet. What do we DO about these kids? As in, do they stay kids? Do we eventually give them age-up stuff so they can be adults? I hadn't really thought about it until Jo was born. I'll leave it up to you guys to decide. For now I'm content with Jo being a kid, just to see how the Quits might treat a child differently. One idea I've been throwing around in my brain is: what if we keep baby Quits as "kids" until they reach a certain level? Like maybe 5 or 10. That way they have to be a kid for at least a few days, and then once we've seen them interact enough to become a higher level we can age them up and allow them to get into relationships with other adult Quits. You guys can let me know what you think!

OK, PHEW! That was a LOT of typing! I'd love to get straight into talking about Jo and the changes he brings to the island, but I'm afraid Jo spent most of today staying within his home "TOIR" ("THE OTP IS REAL") without interacting much with the Quits of the outside world. Makes sense, he was JUST born... So we'll have to spend the next few days studying this new form of Quit-life extensively! I will be keeping a very, VERY watchful eye on Jo! There is research to be done!!!!!!!

Alright, that's all for today's episode. This is just the start of a new era of Quitland...with Jo, things have changed DRASTICALLY. We now have 61 Miis, and also the first Mii with a different personality type and age. It's time to see how the Quits react to such radical shift... ...but before that, funny pictures!!!

The end! Sorry for being so down in the last part, I don't know why but I was just feeling really stressed and I struggled to find the drive to write part 9. But I'm feeling better now, I think I just needed to get out and do something else to give myself a mental reset.

HOW TO GET LIVING THE DREAM ON EMULATORS

check if your device meets the minimum requirements for ryubing emulator. unfortunately, mobile devices will NOT be able to run LTD. only win 10-11, linux or macos.

download ryubing from here.

download the switch keys and firmware.

download the LTD NSP from here

unzip the keys and firmware into folders

open ryubing/ryujinx, go into "actions" and click "install keys", and select the prod.keys and title.keys files

go into "actions" again and click "install firmware", click "install firmware (folder)" and select the switch firmware folder

drag and drop/open the tomodachi life NSP in ryubing

you're done!!
