so ig I’ll expand on some short headcanons here!

so i mentioned last time i talked abt this being like a cultural hylian thing to only touch the ears of someone you love dearly, so like obviously parent/child, maybe older/younger siblings, etc. but i like to think generally,

esp as hylians grow up and become adults, their ears are like a thing only lovers/spouses touch/take care of

including piercings a lot of the time, so like a parent or sibling or lover will learn to properly pierce ears (tho i imagine they only really pierce non-cartilage piercings commonly)

so on the subject of piercings, i definitely think they see any multiple piercings/cartilage piercings on your ears as badass/def a show of good pain tolerance regardless of what you acc can withstand lol

(bro and if you have non-ear piercings?? Wind/Wild is Fascinated, and Leg/Hyrule/Sky/Wars jaws def dropped, even Time’s eye widened)

ok so we’re continuing off that situation in teh last post where you touch Four’s ears and are told what that means, and then half jokingly respond that they are very dear to your heart

(but obv if they’re uncomfortable you’ll def not do it)

bro the effect this has on them is actually irreversible lol

Wind was def the first to outright ask you to like check his ears after swimming or if they get nicked or even to ask you to pierce them once!

(if ur squeamish u said “no Wind, ask ur grandma” lol - but if ur not, like me when i was drunk once, u go for it after making super sure they’re symmetrical and sterile and whatnot, theyre just his firsts, as in the earlobe basic, and lend him a pair of your own earrings to keep in the meantime until healed, which is faster than humans. he is so happy he looks more like a pirate lol)

and the others def followed suit after Wind gave them the courage ironically (both being the youngest and also they literally all fought evil lol)

Wild politely asked if you could make him/help make him some earmuffs, Hyrule shyly asked if you would change his earrings, Four nearly went as red a tomato giving you a pair of earrings before suddenly but slowly all of them (except Wind?) gave you earrings some way or another (made or bought)

When one of the waitresses at an inn you guys stayed at giggled at seeing Sky give you a pair of carved pretty wooden feather earrings, before quickly running off, then congratulated you,

u asked what for, only to have her giddly explain it was a courting gift of course!!

…

nahhhh, all the Links gave you a pair of earrings, they were just being sweet and welcoming you into their culture probably!

or showing that you were dear to them to, since it was an “ear culture” thing!!

…you see the waitress sigh pitifully at the blonde men at your table later that night.

That would be really awesome actually. I'm pretty really stressed atm, so I guess we could try a guide reader au with the links (my only real preference is Hyrule, but I like p much all of them so Hyrule + two others of your choosing) essentially forcing me to take a break. That's one thing in really bad at and I think if one of the links was like "✒️ anon. Dude. Go to bed rn. I'll supervise you and make sure. Don't play w me." I would actually listen cause I don't have the body strength or the mental capacity to really fight back.

You'd been running around the camp for hours

Ever since joining back up with your beloved heroes, in the flesh now, you'd gone back to some of your video game habits interestingly enough

Stockpiling supplies, having 2 of everything, constantly refilling health potions or related items, etc.

The behaviour was all too familiar for all the Links, except now luckily enough, they were finally there in person to get ahold of you about it

You swayed as your cape pooled around your feet, blinking away your dry eyes as you shakily go for picking more mushrooms

Looking up and around you spot a few more plants to stock up on, and make a plan for which spots to hit first, and how much to grab but still leave some behind because you're still figuring out if hyrule works like earth in that you need to leave some plant behind so itll regrow-

"Get up."

You frown, looking around in confusion as you slowly deduce who and where to look, a calloused brown hand is suudenly at your side where youre crouched

You blink sleepily confusedly at it before following the tunic clad arm up and up until the fluffy head of dark blonde/maybe light brown hair and round eyes and pointed ears

Hyrule huffs a sigh, his eyes crinkling at the corners with concern, but otherwise lookimg veru firm as he thrusts his hand at your again

"Come on, up. Come with me. We've been looking for you for a bit, I knew you'd be out here."

You wave him off, saying somethinf about the plants and mushrooms and stockpiling before you hear a second long drawn out sigh and all of a sudden youre beinf hoisted under the armpits up into a standing position by the strong hero

You yelp as you sway, the blood rushing to your head as the fairy hero keeps you steady,

Wrapping an arm around your shoulders securely, he steadily guides his own Guide back to civilization (camp)

Youre stifling a yawn as you cant help but lean into your travelers hold, the ache of your muscles and the drag your eyelids fighting you and yet luring you in

You complain (slurring) at Rulie as he hushes you and boops you on your rounded ear

"I'm glad to finally be able to reach you in person now, so I can stop you from doomsday prepping. Sometimes you seemed even a little anxious or panicked when you'd do this. Sometimes it was way too late for you to be awake and pushing it this hard. Yeah, my dream is finally fulfilled, I can drag you to bed"

Hyrule chuckles, his arm tensing across you weary shoulders to squeeze you gently, you give up protesting now, knowing a losing battle when you see one

Its as you two break the treeline into camp that you realize just how much your heroes cared about getting you back, pulling you away from work and laid down

You blink tiredly as Hyrule guides you at your own slow pace, observing the camp as you do

The fire is small, still crackling, and although many are not sleeping yet, every blonde elf has found something peaceful and quiet to do, all migrated to their sleeping bags or the ground

Twilight perks up as he either smells or spots you two, reaching beside him to seemingly adjust little things to your tent

Hylians may be able to sleep upside down, sunshine or rain, on top of rocks or moss, but you needed a tent and somr padding to get anywhere near comfortable enough to sleep

The past 3 days had been rough on you as well, no tent or padding able to be acquired until they got closer to a town,

So this was the first time youre seeing your new bed situation

"Come on, almost there. The captain got a tailor in town to help make your tent and bed. Don't worry about taking a night shift, there's plenty of us to do it instead. ...hope you don't mind, but my sleeping bags in there too, since you said you prefer sleeping next to somebody."

You're barely processing anything he's saying at this point, only leaning more and more into the warm steady side his arm's pressed you into as Twilight pulls at the tent flaps to let you in

You begin to shakily take off your shoes, using Hyrule as support as he widens his stance to better keep you up, tilting unexpectedly the other way just before someone shorter than you slips under youd other arm

You jolt with the new support, trying to get your tired body to respond faster as another slightly buffer arm braces your back and Hyrule pulls at you from the other side to help as well

Four is quiet as he silently supports you, before making sure your sleepy self is braced enough for him to lean right down and pull your remaining shoe off, you blink, mind still at you falling over rather than updating to the now as you slowly come to slur out a thank you and you didnt have to do thats

Before Four is making a hushing sound and working with Hyrule and Twilight to finally get you in the tent

You see him slip to the other side of the outside of the tent, fgiving a goodnight, Twilight smiling and biddin you goodnight from the opposite side as you wouldve stumbled in if it werent for Hyrule catching you

He helps you lower down ti your sleeping mat, as you mumbled embarassed apologizes, while he shushes you and literally helps you get under the covers

He's whispering at this point, sliding under his own covers as he stays on his side and facing you the entire time,

"Four and Twi are on night shift tonight, and theyre vantage point is right outside your tent, so you dont have to worry about anything. And Im right in here in case you need anything too."

You sleepily blink, eyelids feeling swollen with tiredness as you are barely able to tip your head to the side to look him back in his dark blue eyes

You whisper back "thank you rulie"

He smiles softly back at you as your eyes droop

Youre half asleep and think youre imagining it as you feel somethinf warm and soft against your forehead

You fall fast asleep to Twi's shuffling, Fours quiet sniffs as he falls asleep first, and Rulie's body heat pressed to your side

"Goodnight"

Hello, hello, in keeping with the theme of differences between humans and hylians, what about the chain with a fem/gn human reader with curly hair and vitiligo? In Hyrule there doesn't seem to be much diversity in terms of hair or skin. I don't even think curly hair exists there and I think the chain's reaction to those features would be interesting.

SO real, im not confident from the clips ive seen outside of Botw and OG loz (the only two ive played so far) that there's even been a Side Character or NPC with anything more curly than like,, 2b?? 😭

first thought is Four making hair ornaments/accessories lol

itd be cool to think that some hair bobbles dont work on lots of hylian heads bc i like to believe a lot of them have non-thick hair or slick hair strands

so like stuff is harder to keep in their hair, for some part of the hylian population not all

like in my little fictional verse? world? au? of linked universe hyrules, hair sticks are popular, bc they can be twisted around it or ponytail holders, basically anything that can in some way shape or form attach/provide tension to hold itself to their hair

idk maybe like other species besides hylians have thicker hair, esp in colder areas? habitats

but ur like, hylian shaped, so its super pretty for the boys to see, and Four has been ✨Inspired✨

ur legit his muse atp, and he can be found casually working at the little accessories whenever there's free time, or if they're in town and he gets access to the forge

ur hair is just so easy to put things like this in!!

tho i will say Four struggles to actually implement pretty hairstyles to go with them, and the colors arent much better, they argue over it too much lol

surprisingly Twi, Wars, Sky, and Legend I could see actually taking the time to sit down and learn about ur hair type enough from you to help make something kinda close to these styles so u can actually have pretty hair and also use the hair ornaments Four's obsessively made 100s of

(some of the boys have also been gifted one or two to wear, Twi, Sky, Time, Wars, and Hyrule wear like one or two, but Wild, Wind, Legend and Four wear At Least 4 or more at any given moment)

It got to the point where u didnt have the inventory to hold them all, until one day Winds like:

Wind: hehe, just ask vet to hold them all

You: what?? i cant ask him to take up so much space in his inventory just for me! he doesnt even use but one or two i gave him..

Wind: nope, rejected, i pinky promise he'd do it, do it in a heartbeat too

You: I dont know..

Wind: just walk up to him and do ur best begging baby seal eyes, and Legend's gonna melt like a chuchu on a rock in the sun lol

you try it, with only minimal begging and puppy eyes, and before u even finish "hey, Lege, so, i was just wondering, if you dont have room of course thats fine, but i just have a lot of these-"

and he's already looking away and thrusting one of his bottomless bags at you, holding it out saying "well?? hurry up, i dont have all day cmon"

its lowkey become a competition amongst the Links who can do ur hair, doing the best/prettiest hairstyles for you,

they even have tiers like weekly basis, monthly, and recently have upgraded to yearly as u spent more time with them lol

(legit Legend outright puffing out his chest and crossing his arms all proud whenever u compliment his work, Twi grinning like a little kid all excited, if he was Wolfie when u complimented his hairstyle his tail would of coure be wagging, Wars preens and looks entirely too smug, dont tell the others but he's also the best at upkeeping ur hairstyle for you like adjusting stuff that loose or fell or if u need more hair oil or smth, Sky goes all pink in the cheeks and u swear his pointed ears wiggle a little when u compliment his hairstyle - and YES it secretly earns them more brownie points if u like it amongst their hairstyle competition)

oh and feeling jealous competitive for just no reason at all, against Four for making so many hair accessories, Legend is continuously making you bonnets, reversible ones, patterned ones, he even experimented with making some magical ones that kept your head warm/cool without damaging your curls <33

(u cannot thank him multiple times or thank him too excitedly, bc he goes all red and speedwalks off and actually hides from you lmao)

changing to the vitiligo aspects

there was a general sense of wonder from the heroes at your curly hair and skin pigments, but they definitely didnt press you abt it, even if some were clearly staring at you with these huge curious eyes at first (coughwindcough)

the curiousity rlly just turned to admiring not long after traveling together, and it was def a ritual to do a little spin and show all the guys ur new hairstyle whenever one of them helped you/did ur hair for you

but Wild/Legend/Wars were def the best abt helping make you/find you makeup here, whether ur the type to conceal ur pigment changes more, or blend them, or even do something kinda fun like this

they are very supportive of whatever choice u make abt ur skin, or even if u change ur mind every now and then/constantly, doesnt matter to them theyre rolling with it <3

(also goes w/o saying they dont care if ur vitiligo pigmentation is symmetrical or "aesthetically pleasing", its kinda silently, all-heroes-agreed, ur just beautiful)

Wild, Hyrule, Twilight and Wind would def have the most fun/take u up on ur offer on the designs like the above pics, once again, if u let them/thats ur style

(Wind would absolutely try to make small patches into something else, like the kitty picture lmao - u just go from looking at Hyrule's gorgeous light/dark skintone flowers he's bashfully painted down ur arm, to panning over to ur other arm in Wind's grasp filled with seagulls, a chuchu, the King of Red Lions boat??, and a really good drawing of Ganon himself where he used your lighter/darker skin tones to literally shade him 😭😭LMAO??? Time tried to be srs and get onto him but he couldnt keep his laughter contained enough to do it, interuppting him midsentence and shit, bc u know he wouldve done the same thing if u gave him ur arm💀)

but they truly dont make a big deal out of or stare excessively at you, they figure out boundaries quick, along with just being genuinely sweet and decent guys

and if any hylian stares at u weird or a little too long in public in towns or smth, they might even notice before you do tbh

You, minding ur business checking out a vendors items, suddenly hearing Wars slide up next to you with the kind of voice he only uses around particularly grating/annoying nobles

"She's not an attraction, move along. It's rude to stare."

And by the time your looking up and around for whoever he aimed that nearly hissed out remark at, it's just u and him at the stand again, and when u turn back to him, Wars is just smiling and holding up a fruit for you to evaluate

(one time Twi outright growled a bit at someone behind you and when u turned around to see wth was going on, he was pink cheeked and very obviously covering up by whistling badly lmao)

Rating: 10/10 very silly boys abt it all, the little ways they all care abt u is either sweet or silly or somewhere in between

I was thinking about the language barrier's reader a bit and thought that the inclusion of certain types of jewelry on reader looked odd to Hylians was really neat! So I looked around to see what types of jewelry Hylians could wear and the most I see them wearing are gold necklaces, bracelets, and the occasional jewel earring. Which isn't a very diverse jewelry set, but it is interesting. It got me thinking if the reader wears more gothic or alternative types of jewelry like studded rhinestone belts or spiky chained collars or even an industrial piercing on one if their ears. It can also add to the group's suspicions since they're timelines are a lot more fantastical and dark/gothic elements are more see of as apart of the evil side. They could've thought that reader was a spy or smthn! Thoughts?

so... my interpretation of guide!reader may be vastly different from others but with my vast assimilation of yours and others content, this is my variation of the one I like envisioning involving concepts such as yours (Humans are NOT Hylians and Guide!Reader) so this is my official start to the ramblings *DEEP INHALE*

when I read the post about reader losing their sord and just punching the monsters and it is working along with the other links being amazed

I imagine that because of the fact that hylian's are so light that they didn't put that much into the growth of physical arts

they can punch and kick fine but that's more so used for scraps agents one another, rather than in fights against monsters

hylian's don't have enough strength or weight to have it be worth it on the battlefield

its much more worth their time and energy to learn things like swordsmanship or artery, and be nimble

but guide dose have: the muscle, weight, durability and training necessary for such a strategy to be worth it

It would be more effective for the reader to use the Muay Thai and Taekwondo they worked so hard on instead of learning something new

I can imagine that this levees them beater of physically than most (*cough* me *cough*)

leveeing them much more prepared

along with giving them a lot more... muscle...

someone like legend would appreciate how their eyes turn golden in the sun light, shining like no ring on his finger

Hyrule loves how they feel different from the cold sweetness of sugar water, instead they feel like rich honey and warm cinnamene

wild remembers them as there very first true companion and comfort

to wars, an immovable force, never leveeing their side

Hey!! If u read my tags of my last reblog, im doing better, we got back to town and realized our powers back on, and then the next day luckily our water was back on too

(its not drinkable but at least we can flush the toliet/shower 😭)

Luckily too by this point the water distribution/rescue crews are here,

DUDE. We were/are so fucked Biden came to look at us 😃

Im personally still on the lookout for missing ppl (my coworker has missing family in the town nearby and in telling my friend over there to spread the word)

And cellular service is back up, but they may jut be bc they brought in temporary towers/Tmobile is giving out free service for everyone too

Its slow going still, all these developments are taking days to achieve if u cant tell

And no pressure, esp if u dont have the spare money,
