Jason Stark Dreams a wolf dream
Or Jason V
So much like Piper, Jason is going to get a backstory drop through dreaming. And so he dreams of wolves. He decides he would like to avoid becoming the world's biggest Dog biscuit and goes along with what they want him to do.
It is here Jason reveals he was raised by Wolves. Roman ones. Lupa the great mother wolf, who runs kind of a ruthless wolf pack, if the philosophies he attributes to them are true. Not sure I Like the characterization. Hmmm.
He's probably really into meat. And here Piper the vegetarian wants to date him.
Raised by Wolves. His reintegration into humans at the Roman camp have to be hilarious. Do they have stupidly funny stories of Jason trying to greet people by licking the inside of their mouths? Did he get super excited by tug of war? Does he wiggle his butt when he wants to play? Does he get tag zoomies and just run around and get disappointed when no one took him up on tag?
This is the biggest potential for funny I have found from Jason in this entire book so far!
Imagine if all his memories had been taken but being raised by Wolves! And he just goes around being absolutely weird by human standards, so the whole Drew conflict never happens. Other stuff too, but the concept is pretty funny to me. He sticks to reading face and body language, and has no idea what goes on. He burrows in winter! The unnamed furry thing Leo spots in the forest is upon closer inspection just Jason, wearing a lot of fur, and eating some unfortunate creature. Leo decides to firmly back away and never ask for context. Let him get weird.
Back to the point Jason must go back to where this whole thing started for him, to the house of life or death.
In a pool below them, Hera (Juno) struggles, captured. The Enemy wishes to indulge in abomination and use this sacred house to revive her son. Lupa wants none of that shit going down and tasks Jason with cleansing.
Jason asks who he is, and Lupa makes a name based Joke that he will not be able to appreciate. Cute.
