Unconditional love, joy, patience, and home were just some of the prominent themes of this relationship. They had such a natural ease and believable love. There was something so special about seeing Elizabeth light up around him as she began to open herself up to love again after the passing of her first husband. 

I just miss them so so much. Season 9 gave us a lovely proposal and then, instead of a wedding, in the mess that was season 10 a beautiful love story was undercut when they decided to backtrack (and break my heart).

Watched the season finale of When Calls the Heart and I REFUSE to believe I’m the only one in love with Lucas. Cause y’all, where are the fanfics???

OH MY GOD!!

Okay I stopped watching When Calls the Heart ages ago cause the plots started infuriating me but I kinda keep a half eye on the show out of interest and I just found out that one of the main characters, the only one I still like, Lucas, WAS SHOT AND SUFFERED A HEAD INJURY AND NOW HAS AMNESIA OR SOMETHING?!?! BITCH WHAT!! THAT'S SO GOOD!!! YAS!!

Now I gotta go watch and see it!!! I've wanted Lucas whump ever since he first started on this show! God I hope Nathan is super worried about him too cause I won't lie I ship THE HELL out of Lucas/Nathan. One big reason I stopped watching is because the stupid love triangle bullshit drove me crazy. Clearly Lucas and Nathan have more chemistry than they do with the female lead. Just saying.

Of course knowing Hallmark and WCTH in particular I bet you don't even seen Lucas get shot. I bet there's a time jump to right after his recovery. And I bet the amnesia lasts for like 2 mins. Still....I'm gonna watch it just to see if anything is giffable (as though I have time to make gifs right now. I still want to make Murdoch whump gifs from the musical episode)

When Calls the Heart's Lucas Bouchard Deserves a Lasting Romance

When Calls the Heart's Lucas Bouchard deserves the kind of lasting romance all his friends are now in.

I’m often unapologetically vocal about how much I hate love triangles. Whether they’re in the romance novels I read or the TV and films I watch, the result is almost always a bitter taste. However, there are some exceptions here and there, and surprisingly, Hallmark’s When Calls the Heart is one of them. How the series works through the love triangle between Elizabeth Thornton, Nathan Grant, and Lucas Bouchard paints a complex and riveting picture of what it means to truly find the best-suited partner.

But when the choice is officially made, and one person is left without a partner? That’s something the show could (and will hopefully) fix in Season 12. Ultimately, the reason the love triangle works here is because both men are genuinely great, which means that it’s now time for Lucas Bouchard to find his other half, too. And he especially deserves a love story after everything he goes through in Season 11.
