I’m also skeptical of that reasoning but I personally never cared for Georgie anyway so I don’t care either way. What are your thoughts?

Chris and Julie also had a girl! [x]
Erin and Ben welcomed a daughter in April! [x]
Do you have a list of all your blogs? Just making sure I can follow all of them and keep up to date love of the shows you talk about. Wasn't sure if you made a blog of the new spinoff of Hope Valley was really enjoying that one glad it got a season 2.
I did make a blog for @hopevalley1874 but very few people around here seem to be interested in it so not much went on over there. I really enjoyed the first season as well.
There aren't any other active show blogs since WCTH is the last one standing now with The Way Home done.
@watchinghallmark is my general Hallmark blog so that'd be the primary one to follow. If any new shows come out, I'd be posting about them there first and then potentially making a separate blog.
It appears Garage Sale Mysteries is back from the dead.
Get ready for a full Lori comeback.
I wasn't in the fandom at the time so there may be explanations that I'm not aware of, but I thought it was odd how Cat Montgomery and her entire family were just... completely written out of the show after the first season for no apparent reason? They'd been set up as one of the core families in the town with lots of connections to other characters, and Cat herself was one of the leaders in town, and then all of a sudden the show went "Nah, never mind." I wasn't especially attached to the Montgomerys or anything, but it felt jarring and a little bewildering.
Early on, that happened so often. People would refer to it as the black hole. Characters disappeared all the time out of nowhere. Cat's daughter Emily stuck around through season 12. You probably forgot she was Cat's daughter because she didn't have a family around.
I believe the actress that played Cat was pretty blindsided by it. I'm not sure there was ever a good reason given for it. It happened with Dottie too. Maybe that's who I remember saying she was not asked back and didn't understand why. It's all so long ago now. I think a lot of it had to do with Lori, to be honest. She kind of took over and Abigail started to do more and more (too much, really) around town. We didn't need all the other women because Abigail needed to take their jobs. That's a joke, sort of. It makes me slightly worried having her back again for that reason.
the way edie gently asks lucas about deciding not to run for re-election.... she really is his best friend as well as the love of his life 😭😭😭
They really came to rely on and trust each other and it's wonderful!
THAT LUCEDIE GIFSET I !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [SCREAMING INTO THE AETHER]
It was so fun to revisit all their scenes!
I binged the prequel show (loved it) and it inspired me to rewatch the first season of WTCH over again and the difference is CRAZY. The show feels so different in S1 compared to how it is now. One feels like a grounded period drama and the other is a campy ensemble set in the past. I love both versions, don’t get me wrong, but I forgot how vastly the show changed in tone as years went on.
Yeah, they really switched things up with season 2 which was an interesting choice. I think people responded well to season 1 so I'm not sure why they did that. It had a raw, gritty feel to it and was much more realistic to the time period while still having that Hallmark vibe people tune in for. I like the show for what it is now but it would've been nice to keep some of that season 1 energy. The show can lean too campy and too sappy and inauthentic sometimes which can be frustrating.
LUCAS BOUCHARD & EDIE MARTELL When Calls the Heart - seasons 12 + 13
Would you consider doing a gifset of different times Lucas and Edie gave each other those "I actually want to bang you on the nearest available surface" eyes? (I'm thinking especially of that time Edie quite literally bit her lip bloodless watching him walk away from her carrying those crates but there are DEFO others.) No pressure obvs!! I would just love to see their blazing sexual tension celebrated :)
Yeah, of course! I'm a bit swamped with stuff at the moment but this would be a fun project to work on when I get the chance.
More Lucedie brainrot: I love, love, LOVE that well before she kisses him - hell, by the time she leaves for Union City, maybe even before that, maybe even by the end of s12 - Lucas and Edie already KNOW there's Something There. There isn't any of this "does he like me or does he LIKE like me?" tapdancing going on. They're into each other, they KNOW they're into each other, and it's about whether they're brave enough to act on it, not whether or not it exists in the first place. Those smiles on their faces after she kisses him aren't happiness and relief that the other one feels the same - it's overwhelming, ecstatic joy that they've FINALLY found their way to each other. His offer to come to New York was his declaration that he's ready, he's HERS, he's choosing to embrace what they already KNOW exists between them, and she kisses him because FINALLY she's allowed, finally he's saying "yes, I choose YOU, I choose US, I choose you because what we have is WORTH IT" and when he thinks - FEARS - he's overstepped and read too much into it, what she feels is too much for words and so she HAS to kiss him because nothing else will tell him everything she needs to say. In conclusion I love these two brilliant genius goobers SO MUCH OH MY GOD!!!!
It really was such a beautiful journey they went on! The show didn't give them a lot of scenes but what they were able to do in those moments was so great. That kiss felt earned. Hopefully there's many more to come! I'm very excited to see what's next for them.
they say nothing lasts forever (but they ain't seen us together) (5225 words) by roseandheather Chapters: 3/3 Fandom: When Calls the Heart (TV) Rating: Mature Warnings: Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings Relationships: Lucas Bouchard/Edie Martell Characters: Edie Martell, Lucas Bouchard Additional Tags: Fluff, Reunions, Author Hates AI And Loves Em-dashes, Lucas and Edie Do New York Summary:
Four weeks, two train journeys, and a whole lot of pining after the kiss that changed their lives, Lucas and Edie reunite at Grand Central Terminal.
It does not go the way either of them imagined.
(It is much, much better.)
Hiii! I know we’re on hiatus. However! I have found 4 -please note FOUR - deleted kisses from Season 13 on Hearties social media accounts. These are not AI, they are true deleted scenes. So my apologies to the writers!! I ragged on them the whole series. I direct all my wrath and distain to whoever’s decision it was to cut them!! Apologies to, Erin, Kevin, the new writers, etc. and all the other people I blamed. What the heck!!! Now I’m gonna have to buy the freaking DVD.
I'm rarely on social media these days so I haven't seen anything. It's annoying regardless. Even without the kissing we should've felt the passion and it really wasn't there.
This is a bit random, but am I crazy to be a bit nostalgic about season 10? When I first saw that banana bread clip, I mean the BUZZ !! Then it just kept going with the muffins and the apple juice scene. I remember when that finale picture of Nathan and Elizabeth at the log came out and the THEORIES everyone was making! Then of course the infamous “What do you want” scene. Just that will they won’t they from really like episode 9 onwards was just so fun. I feel like Nathan and Elizabeth do angst so well (and have been doing it for so long) that the lack of passion this past season was just so obvious.
I loved all the angst they used to have. That's my favorite thing. And you're right they do it so well. It's a shame that wasn't translated into passion in season 13. I almost would've preferred to have them bickering over things than being lovey-dovey without kissing, you know? Give us something! They just weren't interesting at all. I don't know. Hopefully next season will correct course.
in service to my continued lucas/edie brainrot, how long do you think it takes them before they look at each other and go 'lol yeah we're totally getting married this is obviously Forever'
I'm sort of hoping they just elope in New York and come back married after the time jump. Then we could have his mom return to Hope Valley and be like what did you do??? That could be fun.
I don't think that'll happen but I think they'll probably get engaged quickly. Maybe they wouldn't want to have another proposal so soon after Nathan and Elizabeth and then all their wedding planning, etc. though so who knows. It wouldn't be realistic for Lucas and Edie to wait long but this show makes annoying choices sometimes.
I haven't forgotten about the smut I promised either. I've had a lot going on and I'm also always tired and unmotivated so that doesn't help. Hopefully I can get back to it soon.
