Even with a map in hand, Falkner had managed to get himself lost. Every street looked the same to him, and his manner of dress had him horridly standing out. When he had agreed to pick up a shipment of Pokemon medication from the Pokecentre in Castelia City, no one had told him how large the city was. Trying to match buildings to squares on the map was a puzzle in itself, not to mention the fact the back alleys were not accounted for. It would have been so much easier to find the telltale red roof from the sky, but with the excess of sky scrapers and blimps in the metropolis, he wasn't sure such would be a good idea.
And what sort of city didn't have directional markers leading to their all-important Pokecentre anyhow? He squinted down at the map again, trying to make sense of the legend across the top. Weren't those usually down the side--?
...Oh.
A frustrated groan managed to escape his lips before he remembered he was in public, hurriedly straightening his back again to look composed. It took more effort than he was willing to admit not to throw the offending paper to the ground, settling for stuffing it unceremoniously into his travel pack. He'd been putting it off as a last-ditch resolve, but having been shown he would never aspire to being a cartographer, he would have to ask for directions.
"Um, excuse me... anyone?" Crestfallen that everyone seemed to be in such a hurry, his voice was small, the unfamiliarity of the city draining him of the confidence he usually prided himself in. "Anyone... Could you spare a moment? ...Please...?"
