Location: Back corner of the library
Involved: Lucinda Talkalot & Remus Lupin
"I couldn’t decide which potion I wanted to study in depth, so I wrote two essays,” Luce said sheepishly, plonking a small stack of parchment down onto the table with a soft thud. “I present to you.... drumroll please.... three lengths of parchment on the types of everlasting elixirs, and why I should be able to add them to any potion I like without getting my head bitten off by Slughorn.” She rested her hands behind her head and leaned backwards on her chair, chuffed that once again she’d outdone herself.
Luce had come back from Quidditch practice two evenings ago covered in muck and with a ton of thoughts about their first proper assignment of the school term, which had of course been set by the potions master. Typical really, he was always looking for the cleverest students at the start of the year. Luce had been a favourite in fifth year, but sixth was a whole other game. That’s why she figured it was better to have gone hard with her essays, than to have half-arsed it and have had to watch him fawn over another student all year long.
Dropping the front legs of her chair back to the ground she rummaged around in her bag until she found the bag of assorted sweets she’d brought from the muggle sweet shop back home. ‘No crisps this time, but mum’s sending some next week.” She smiled apologetically, fishing an Opal Fruit sweet out and popping it in her mouth.
“Go on then, let’s see what potion you wrote yours on?”
