I'd love to see Lucidus main characters because they deserve more love, appreciation and respect💕

Appreciate the enthusiasm but Lucidus has an ensemble cast - ergo it has a lot of main characters - so i might need something a little more specific lol

(List of characters I'm open to answering questions about rn: Anne, Brooklyn, Star, Cadence, Jacob, Sebastian, Josalyn, Amir, and Beatrice)

Who's your favourite characters in People are Weird and Lucidus respectively?

Admittedly, since Li’s getting cut from PaW and is being replaced by a character I haven’t made yet, that one’s getting out on the back burner pending reorganization of the cast. I’ll come back to that when I have that all sorted out.

As for Lucidus? GOD that’s hard; the cast is full of such wonderful characters it’s really hard to pick a favorite. It’s like being asked to choose a favorite child.

But if I HAD to pick a favorite… I’d probably have to go with a tie between Jake and Cadence, Anne pulling up just behind them. I find the former two’s stories most compelling/engaging, and editing couple banter with Jake and Sebastian is just good wholesome snarky fun

And Anne holds a special place in my heart due to her character and story arc being something I relate to a lot. Also, every single line of dialogue that comes out of her mouth is a riot.

I'd normally ignore that that meme was specifically for SI/Canon ships - i don't mind really, i'd normally roll with it - but the sad truth about Anne and Brook is that I currently have no concrete love interest for either of them LOL

Are they shippable with each other? In some capacity, SURE, but I don't at present have plans for them to be end-game or get together, and they're unfortunately SO SHIPPABLE with just about everyone in the Lucidus line-up - or at least the women for Brook; Anne's a bisexual disaster so she has so many options my decision paralysis is very real - I don't have a concrete love interest for either of them yet lol

Lucidus Characters Redesign/WIPS

Sebastian Cooper

Originally much skinnier. Arguably he's still a little on the slimmer side, but i mean the guy used to be really skinny back when i was using bad anatomy.

Skin is now darker. Originally he was on the lighter side, but while testing out colors, the darker colors just ended up sitting next to each other really nicely.

Hair is longer. Originally it was cut short; why? Idk; could have been bullying or a hate crime or his dad being a racist prick or an emotional meltdown, I have no idea, I never got that far. Ultimately, in the end, my brain leaned more towards his Native Choctaw roots and it felt wrong to let it be cut short. Plus, after playing around with it, his thick mane just looks nicer.

Hair is now dark brown. Originally he had jet black hair with blue streaks. But next to Cadence and Jacob, who also had black hair, it wasn't very distinct from them. I mAY give him streaks again at some point? But this works as a general default for now.

Has a purple/brown/yellow/blue color palette. Originally it was blue and white, but that left him indistinct from Jacob, and especially considering they're dating/best friends (depending on the AU) they just blended together too much. So although only the purple is seen here right this second, I envision gold/yellow and shades of blue being used later down the road.

d i m p l e s. He didn't originally have them, but I felt compelled, and they oddly worked for him. (Especially once I figured out how to do it properly.

He used to have a kind of skaterboy/grunge look to him; now that's generally restricted for performances, and his casual clothes are a lot more down-to-earth.

Jacob Rosario

Boy beefed up. I mean it, even ignoring my inability to draw male anatomy, the guy was meant to be a LOT skinnier than he is now. #CertifiedTwink. Ultimately, because what he does outside of his schooling is very physically taxing, and his naturally low body temperature making a lack of muscle/fat content dangerous, I decided it only made sense for him to have built up a little bit of muscle. He's still a little on the lean/athletic side, but his shoulders and chest are much broader.

HEY LOOK I FIGURED OUT HOW TO GIVE HIM A MASCULINE JAWLINE. HE DOESN'T LOOK LIKE A 12-YEAR-OLD GIRL ANYMORE. I WIN.

Hair is a little looser. Admittedly this was mostly the result of his original hairstyle looking too close to Yun Li's from People are Weird, and I had to do something else to give them a visual distinction. It also gives him something of a visual parallel to Cadence (who I'll show off when i have a sketch I'm satisfied with).

His clothing style overall used to be universally business/casual, since he was originally inspired by Akechi from Persona. But ultimately, considering the shift to him dating someone a lot more laidback, I decided to leave his business clothing to school/the court room, and letting his casual clothes be a little more athletic, stylish and comfortable. It's not uncommon to see him in turtlenecks or those shirts with the light necks and no sleeves--I FORGET WHAT THEY'RE CALLED BUT YOU KNOW THE KIND.

She was supposed to be blonde at first, but then it ended up not looking good on her skin tone.

so i gave her jet black hair with a blue highlight instead and it looks INFINITELY BETTER
