Lucidworks Announces Acquisition of Cirrus10
Based in San Francisco, Lucidworks develops AI-powered search solutions for businesses in the food, insurance, retail, transportation, and healthcare industries. Benefits of AI-Powered Search
Lucidworks is a tech company based in San Francisco. Among its many specialties, Lucidworks' AI-powered search has helped modernize the technology infrastructure of businesses. AI-powered searches are not only the new evolution in IT, but it also holds a few benefits for businesses that use it. Central to AI-powered searches is machine learning or the ability for a machine to retain, organize, and retrieve information. In the past, a user would simply type in a search term into the computer and based on keywords and other factors a list of results would be generated. AI-powered searches, however, take a cognitive approach to generate results simply by categorizing and sorting the information and then making connections, so that searches are more meaningful to the user. This technology is beneficial to users because it is an efficient way to search for information. Because it can essentially organize large amounts of data (given a number of variables), it provides users with a way of searching for information quickly and generating results that are more accurate. Furthermore, because there is an element of interpretation, the results that are generated are personalized.
Activate 2019 Call for Speakers Now Open
Activate, the Search & AI Conference, will be held September 9-12, 2019 in Washington DC.
Last year, Lucidworks rebranded our annual conference to “Activate”, creating the world’s premier Search and AI conference. Like its predecessor, Lucene/Solr Revolution, the conference brought together the best from the open source Lucene/Solr project, but also increased the focus on applied AI techniques for driving enhanced relevancy and personalization, and the complementary research, technologies, and innovations happening within industry to drive the cutting edge in search and information retrieval.
Activate 2018 became a resounding success! With the largest audience ever and with presentations from over 100 speakers presenting 70 sessions that drew a global audience from 39 countries to the beautiful city of Montreal, it was our biggest and best conference to date!
This fall, we are back in the United States and are planning for even more significant growth in terms of number of attendees and number of sessions, as we once again bring together the best and brightest Search and AI minds in Washington, D.C.
For those of you working on Search and AI or within the Apache Solr ecosystem, the call for speakers is now open, and this is your chance to get in front of all those hungry minds and share your expertise.
Call for Speakers
While always keeping you up-to-date on the latest in open source Solr and complementary technologies (Spark, Fusion, Machine Learning, NLP, etc.), we also want to continue to attract and embrace a much larger, diverse community of participants interested in tackling many of the emerging interdisciplinary problems in search and relevancy.
The intersection of Search and AI continues to be the largest area of growing interest we hear from our customers, and we will further expand upon that theme this year.
Of course, these “smarts” must tie into a larger ecosystem, including a scalable search platform, engaging and assistive user experiences, and a deep understanding of the business use cases to which intelligent search is being applied. READ DETAILS/APPLY.
Lucidworks Fusion Platform Helps AllMedx Deploy Search App Quickly
California-based technology company Lucidworks provides AI-powered search engine technology and development support to businesses in industries including technology, healthcare, agriculture, insurance, retail, and transportation. One of Lucidworks' significant projects involved a medical search site for health care professionals called AllMedx. Founded in 2017, AllMedx was designed to provide the highest quality of information for physicians and clinicians. When developing AllMedx, chief executive officer Douglas Grose intended to create a search engine that contained reliable information from reputable medical journals and clinical sources. Grose turned to Lucidworks’ proprietary software, Fusion, to index data sources such as PubMed, Centers for Disease Control, rarediseases.org, clinicaltrials.gov, and more than 2,000 clinical guidelines from 230 medical societies. Fusion’s cutting-edge technology, all wrapped up in an intuitive and user-friendly platform, has allowed AllMedx staff to process a large number of records across multiple data sources more efficiently. Fusion’s AI and machine learning capabilities also helped customize search results according to the user's' previous queries, medical field, and interests. As the site’s popularity increases, Fusion is integral to AllMedx’s goal of gaining as much as 250,000 physician users in 2019 and indexing 2,000 more medical sites that contain information on a wide range of specialties.
