I know I’m on the right track because today my book really hurt my feelings

is this book even about religion at all? have I gotten it all wrong? this book is about feeling that the thing inside you — some thing that everyone else seems to possess whole and intact — is somehow broken, and always was.

as MCs go, Luci and Nell could not be more different. Nell knows that what’s inside her is right and good and true with a ferocity that forces the world to change around her. Luci knows the only thing justifying her existence is her ability to become a worthy sacrifice. which makes this a very different book to write.

okay so I didn’t write any new words yesterday but I did reread the words I had written and think “damn I wish there were more of this to read” which is kind of like writing

why is writing a book so hard!!

Luci’s been letting me know it’s almost time to write her book and I just want to say:

How did I ever think this book was gonna be some kind of fun time? This book is gonna fucking hurt me

If I had a nickel for every time I wrote a book involving fucking the sun, well, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t much but it’s weird that it happened twice.
