Some part of Kelli had been hoping that when she woke up this would have all been a bad dream. The masked man, the collar, the van, this bizarre cell and ominous hints at what was to come. It felt like some of the other nightmares she had dealt with over the years but this was far to real, much to her dismay.
Kelli had paced around the cell close to a hundred times by now looking for anything that could possibly lead to her escape or removal of the damn collar that was weighing heavily around her neck. Unfortunately her searching resulted in nothing and she could feel herself starting to panic as runaway thoughts began concocting more and more frightening scenarios.
Before she could spiral too much she stopped and sat down on the cold ground, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. Everything is going to be okay. I’m going to be fine. I will get out of here, she repeated to herself mentally as focused on slowing her breathing and calming her mind. It had been working until she heard the door open and she snapped her focus to the figure now entering the room.
