Tobacco branding and artist endorsement re-imagined
Lucky PDF has collaborated with controversial boutique Swiss tobacco brand Smoke Fred, inviting artists to re-imagine the cigarette packet, as a "canvas for self promotion, aesthetic adventure and social commentary". In an era when the tobacco industry is facing serious health moralization with unappealing packaging as an important part of the deal, this project turns the opposite way. What's interesting is how it reflects on the addictive nature of branding and the use of artists in a commercial context; that has become predominant marketing trend; from Absolut Vodka and Becks to Louis Vuitton.
