Do you know whether or not bone is important? When I was looking for cat food recipes several said you HAD to grind up bone, which was a step too far for me, but your recipe sounds doable!
No, I don’t think bone itself is important -- I would imagine that they’re using bone to provide some nutrients like calcium. You can get the same thing with vitamin powder -- this is the one I use, there are a couple on the market. I just stir it into the sweet potato before I mix everything together.

I'd also consult with a vet before making your own cat food meal plans at home.
Oh, for sure! I kept them on canned kitten food until I could speak to the veterinarian about the diet I’d chosen, which I think was just as well since they were SO young when I got them, waiting until 12 weeks or so to start them on a homemade diet was probably good.
She said as long as I make sure that I include the vitamin mix and keep the chicken unseasoned, it should be fine. This HAS led to me having “human chicken” and “cat chicken” tupperwares in the fridge, since I like onions and garlic on mine :D
But yeah, it’s one reason I’m monitoring poop and coat health and such so closely, I want to make sure if they aren’t getting what they need I can put them back on commercial food before it becomes a problem. I have a stash of it in the pantry anyway, for if I run out of their homemade stuff or for kitten-sitters to use.
