If I were you I would go for the improv at UCB too. It was a lot of fun but it totally threw me off because I've only done short form (which I love but everyone in NY makes fun of me for.) They start off pretty slow, but not at an annoyingly slow pace in 101. And they're really great at absorbing you into their comedy family.
Ahaha, sadly, Comedy Sportz is like the only place that takes short form seriously. I'm sure the UCB hipsters give you shit about it =/
But I definitely do want to try UCB and plan on it!!
I've been wanting to write to you forever but I'm too embarrassed. But whatever, I reblog your stuff all the time. I went to Columbia too! I took a lot of the classes you took! So weird. Except I went to Second City instead of iO. I'm in NYC now doing UCB - I did their improv 101 and now I'm in a sketch class. Are you planning to venture out to NY after you graduate?
I am planning on going to NY! I love it and I miss it. I'm hoping to do UCB, though I don't know if I'll fit in there because they play so damn fast. But the writing classes at the very least, yes.
