Card revision advice

I submitted an early version of this card to one of your design contests and received some good critique on it, but I really want to get a working version made. The original used plus and minus counters, which caused a lot of board confusion, so I did a lot of thinking about the flavor of a vampire pirate who wanted to gain information from her victims and still feed like a vampire, and this is the revision I came up with. What do you think?

This is a MUCH better version! The first abilities are perfectly fine on this sort of creature. The second ability is exceptionally powerful, but not so much that it needs to be nerfed. The “draw a card” part of it (which needs a period, BTW) is the most powerful part, and I love it.

The third ability is also just fine, and a real pain in the butt. The flavor aspect and the power level interact perfectly, entwining into an appropriately mythic burst of piracy. AWESOME job on your revisions! I’m really happy to see this card!

in the battle for zendikar trailer nissa speaks and she just has a neutral american accent, my normal voice would b a little too twangy so i just try and speak clearly if people want me to say something in character

Are state-based actions checked if I cloudshift something, between it leaving and coming back? Does anyone get priority in there? Does this kill a token?

No one gets priority in the middle of Cloudshift resolving, but the token doesn’t come back. There’s a rule that states that a token that has left the battlefield can’t return to the battlefield. It’ll be stuck in exile and cease to exist when state-based actions are checked immediately after Cloudshift resolves.

Regarding your most recent Ask answer, could a person cast a spell, hold priority and cast another spell? One with Split Second?

Sure, but once the spell with Split Second resolves your opponents will be able to cast spells and activate abilities again.

basically i’m an archaeologist irl and i like anowon bc hes an archaeomancer and also he stops the entire quest to stop the eldrazi so that he can look at some ruins and honestly so would i. plus hes the one pulling the strings on zendikar rn dont let gideon tell u otherwise
