7/? Prompt: Luconnor based on this thread, for @firuflies
Joe’s phone vibrated while he was eating his mid-morning snack. He left his apple on the napkin and saw that it was a notification from the gay dating app his friend had insisted he had to download. He had only used it once, so when he saw the ‘You have a match’ message, he frowned and unlocked it. And when he saw his “match”, he almost choked on the bite he had in his mouth.
Joe straightened on the chair and stared at the picture; it was, without a doubt, Lucas. His co-worker, Lucas. His friend, Lucas. His straight crush, Lucas.
Joe took a sip from his bottle of water, and after a deep breath, looked at the phone. And in that precise moment, it vibrated again.
‘Joe? I’m so sorry, Noelle-’
‘Noelle took my phone and downloaded this.’
‘I’ll see you after work and explain, okay?’
Joe stared at the screen for a few seconds, typed a simple ‘okay, sure’, and sent it. It made sense that it was a joke… but he was definitely going to kill Noelle. She had also been the one that had convinced him to download the stupid app, and now Lucas not only would tell him he would never be in that app just because, but he also knew Joe was in that app.
Joe tried to forget all about it for the rest of the morning, but his mind kept playing all the different outcomes once Lucas explained. What if the man felt weird about being friends with him after this…?
