Win and Lose
Luigi: Hah...
Daisy: What's wrong, Luigi?
Luigi: Do you ever feel like you're always going to be in second place, no matter what you do?
Daisy: Nope! If I think like that, there's no way I'd ever be in first!
Luigi: Hah...
Daisy: Oh, r-right. Not about me.
Luigi: It's fine. You are the best player I've ever met. Even when you lose, you're winning somehow.
Daisy: Well, I dunno about that.
Luigi: But then there's me, who's always on the losing end. I'm either getting tricked, or left behind, or coming up in second place, even when I'm in first.
Daisy: ...Well, what's wrong with that?
Luigi: Huh?
Daisy: My dad used to tell me that winning isn't everything, but losing shouldn't be everything. I mean, if you think about it, when you win, that's it. There's nowhere to go but stay where you are, because you don't need to go anywhere.
Daisy: But if you lose, you can learn from your mistakes so that you can win, every time.
Luigi: ...
Daisy: Er, well, then that would mean when you win, you can't get better, and then you'd lose, so then you can win, which- Agh! Forget it! I don't know what I'm talking about.
Luigi: Actually, I think you do. You always know what to say. That's why I'm happy to not be a winner, because I can always get better until I do win. And when I win one thing, well, that just means I haven't won the next, so I have to keep trying until I win. That's what you're saying, right?
Daisy: ...Yes?
Luigi: Thank you, Princess. You are as wise as you are beautiful.
Daisy: Oh? So I'm beautiful and smart, but not strong and brave?
