Heyyy, how about first valentine's as a couple for Freewood/Egobang/Risingwood ooorrrr first valentine's with Ryan for Turnfreewood ❤️
VALENTINE PROMPT 2 - TURNFREEWOOD - RESERVATIONS
When Gavin wasn’t at the office that morning, Ryan wasn’t immediately suspicious. Once it hit noon, he couldn’t stop himself from asking Geoff, who gave him a noncommittal shrug, and Ryan shot off a text to his boyfriend which was promptly ignored. At two, he sat at his desk grumbling to himself over the loss of the lunch he planned on taking him out too, and failed to concentrate on the game he was playing as he contemplated whether he should cancel their dinner reservations. At three, he got a text from his girlfriend.
>>Meg: When are you coming over ;)
He stared down at his phone, a frown covering his lips. Jeremy, who had stopped by his desk to ask a question, saw it and spun on his feet to go back to his desk.
>>Ryan: I thought we were meeting for dinner?
>>Meg: Change of plans <3<3
Ryan only had time to let out a huff, before his phone dinged once more. This time it was a picture.
A picture of a receipt. A receipt from a lingerie store. His eyes widened, taking in the list of underwear, stockings, and garters, but he hissed in a breath when he realized that everything was listed twice.
He barely had time to catch his breath, before the next image came through. It was two legs, both of them clad in stockings, one completely bare, smooth and silky white, the other slightly tinned and covered in slight fuzz.
>>Meg: We’re waiting ;)
“I’m leaving,” Ryan blurted out, jerking up from his desk and knocking it so hard his monitor rattled. He didn’t even shut his off his computer, just grabbed his jacket and keys and rushed out the door while the rest of the guys stared at his retreating back.
To hell with dinner reservations.

You’re like, the bestest? Ever? In the whole world?
This is super long but it’s from an original novel I’ve been working on for years about two boys who trained in the academy together in space when they were kids. Idk, but basically here’s the climax of the first book. (Asher’s parents are super religious, basically cult-like, and extremely homophobic so this was a whole thing) I will probably never ever finish it but I always really liked the way this scene turned out.
"I would rather- that is- I do not wish to take the chance that I might regret not doing something."
"Um, okay?"
"I hated you for a long time," Asher said suddenly.
"Well yeah, I know-"
"No, I truly did. I loathed you. Truly despised everything about you." He paused, and for a second Eris was scared that that was the end of it. "I believe it started off as jealousy. You had such an easy time with our peers. You were a nobody, but you slipped in so nicely. Even the teachers adored you. It was," he paused again, "frustrating."
"That's a nice way to put it," Eris chimed in, enjoying the annoyed look shot in his direction.
"Eventually, however, I began to see you as a friend."
Eris really wanted to interject that their school-life was nowhere near as rosey as Asher painted it, but the other man was being so sincere and open, it felt cruel to try and start a fight.
"Then," he continued, "you left, and all those old emotions came flooding back. The ease with which you made my doubt everything. My goals, my faith, even my father." He turned away, overcome. "I couldn't help but resent the control you had over me. A back-water Neslas farmer brat with an insolent mouth-"
"Jesus Asher, tell us how you really feel."
"But," he said, ignoring Eris, "after graduation I realized that it couldn't be hate. You and I meeting, that was- When I think about the little ignorant brat that I was; whom I could have been if we'd never met. It scares me."
"Asher-"
"You made me who I am, Striker. You gave me kindness, and friendship, and you gave me hope."
What is going on? Eris felt a lump in his throat, and he just wanted to slap Asher. He'd never heard his friend so honest, so open, and it was scaring him. Such a pure outpouring of the soul could only really lead to one thing.
"I just wanted to thank you, and let you know," he paused, struggling through something, "just what you mean to me."
This was a goodbye.
"Asher, please, you don't have to. I know you don't have much experience with these things, but friends don't have to say this sort of stuff to each other."
"Don't you get it, Eris?"
Eris did not.
"I have to tell you this, because you are more to me than just a friend."
"Best..friends?"
Asher laughed, softly, but it didn’t quite meet his eyes. His eyes were dark; dark and serious, like when they faced down that simulator. Determined.
"I'm sorry about this Striker," he whispered, the nervousness of earlier a vague memory, "but, as you said, no point in wallowing in regret. Not when I need this."
"Need what? Dude, just tell me what it is. Is something wrong? I'm sure we can put our heads together and we can get this figured out."
Asher was moving forwards and Eris felt himself inching closer to the wall behind him, more unnerved that he could ever remember being before.
"That's what friends are for, right?" Eris quickly whispered as his back slid against the rough station wall. Asher gave him a friendly smile, putting him off guard, before he felt the other boys lips against his own.
Asher was kissing him.
Hands were grasping at his vest, and his head hurt from scraping against the rough surface behind him. He felt his shirt ride up a bit, and his first instinct was to jerk it back down.
Asher's eyes were closed, and his cheeks were flush. Eris felt his face start to burn as the moment truly caught up to him. When he was young, he could remember staring at his friend from the bunk over, thinking about how those lips would taste. Yet, here he was, living out a boyhood fantasy, but all he could feel was confusion, and maybe a hint of fear. Then, Asher's lips' parted, and he could no longer think of them as boys. He wasn't kissing a boy, he was kissing the man he'd become. A strong, lean, smart man was kissing him and he couldn't help but join in. His fingers coiled around Asher's face, pulling them as close as possible.
This is what he had been missing with all those random men and women. The difference of foggy passion, brought on by lust and questionable judgement. This was a deep passion, that ran through years of care and trust, and lit up his whole soul. The full force of their history, and the kiss, sent a shiver through him and he let out a sound that was half moan, half whimper.
Asher jerked back suddenly, his eyes wide and dilated, his cheeks a furious red. Eris, with his friends face still grasped in his hands, tried to pull him back in, but Asher darted out of his reach.
"I-I'm-," he stammered, but Eris was still grasping at him.
"Asher," he groaned, but Asher pushed him back into the wall. A jolt to the head was enough to clear Eris's mind for the moment. "Ash...what?" Eris had been pretty open to both genders from an early age, but to think that Asher would ever even contemplate such a thing was beyond him at the moment.
"I'm sorry Eri-Striker. I'm sorry. To steal such a thing from you in such a crude way, but I-I had to, at least once. I couldn't bear the future, without something of you just for myself," he rambled.
Eris was clutching at his vest, lost in equal parts confusion and excitement. Still, through fog, he could see the sense this made. Asher's guilt, his self-hatred, made so much clearer with his new stunning confession. He made to hug his friend, but he pulled away, wincing.
"Ash, please, let's talk about this."
"I must go," he said suddenly.
"What?" Eris nearly shouted, panicked.
"Now. I have to go now." He was already making his way out of the storage room, and down the station line with Eris barely keeping pace with him.
"What are you doing?"
Asher laughed, nearly leaping onto his platform, the bitterness of it striking Eris like a blow.
"Stop being so stupid, you asshole and just get back here." He made an attempt to leap onto the platform behind Asher, but an attendant hauled him back. Frustrated, he turned to glare at his friend. "When can I see you again?"
"Oh god, Eris, you just don't get it, do you?" Asher peered down at him, keeping his expression calm, though Eris heard the crack in his voice.
"When, Asher?" he continued, determined.
"Never, Eris." The platform groaned as it rose from the ground, jerking up and sending it passengers reeling for something to grab. "Never."
Eris groaned at the echo of his friends melodramatic exit as the platform rose up and docked into The Navigator. Asher may have grown up, but he was incapable of making anything easy.
Thank you so much, I never really thought about ever giving anyone the chance to read this but me but I thought what the hell.

:( What's the fact, bud?
Apparently, the authors of The Expanse series and Andy Weir, the author of The Martian, got drunk at SDCC together and decided that their books were in the same universe, cause why the fuck not. And they even added a ship into the Expanse series called the “Mark Whitney,” named after the main character of the Martian. D:
