Lufel doesn’t hate their daily routine. Not at all.

Although Nagisa’s bag is arguably warm and comfortable, Lufel finds the books digging into his bones and the stray pieces of paper grazing his feathers less than pleasant. He doesn’t dislike being stuffed and carried around in it, as it allows him to be around his business partner all day, but it does get excruciating sometimes.

Lufel’s patience is rewarded at night, when he wiggles out of his confinement and spreads his wings, then perches atop Nagisa’s chest the moment the boy lays down for bed, and makes himself comfortable despite the clearly exasperated yet soft sigh leaving Nagisa’s lips.

Lufel spreads his wings and flaps them while he lowers himself in front of the blanket. He opens his beak and closes it around the cotton fabric, then flies backwards to drag the blanket over Nagisa’s body.

It’s heavy. It tastes so bad. Nagisa is lucky he is Lufel’s business partner and leader. Lufel wouldn’t do this for anyone else!

Based on Lufel’s research on humans, it seems like they kiss the ones they hold affection for. A mighty task, considering his beak, but Lufel is sure it will be just fine. Nagisa is Wonder, after all—someone who meets and surpasses his expectations at the same time.
