I have my interview in about 2.5hrs and I’m freaking out but an excited freaking out bc I don’t work at my current job till the weekend and I’m pretty sure those are gonna be my last days and AH YOU DONT KNOW HOW EXCITED I AM FOR THIS
this is probs gonna be a very short mini thread where I update you guys on what’s going on and how the interview goes today with a reblog or two and feel free to ignore/scroll past BUT—
I learned two days ago that a sister store had an internal promotion to an associate lead w keys, and because one of my managers blabbered her mouth about it amongst the store, it had to be disclosed to us. Why is that?
My store manager didn’t want us to know about it at first so we didn’t apply for the better pay/position and leave.
I already had my interview set up for almost a week at that point but I was like you know what— on top of lack of COVID pay or leave, losing my cleaning arrangement with our adoption agency that paid pretty decently (and I didn’t even get a message relayed they didn’t want me helping anymore), hour cuts that are long term and so bad I only made even bc of unemployment wage loss coverage — I’m fucking ECSTATIC to be leaving.
I worked at this place almost 3yrs (will be 3 in October so close enough), I NEVER got a promotion or raise that WASNT given to me by the company itself.
And one raise was the company raising its personal minimum wage to $10/hr and my at-the-time manager visited everyone privately in my department and pretended HE gave us raises as personal recognition for our work.
We found out bc we talked to one another and yeahhhh some bullshit.
I never got promoted and they never intended on promoting me. I was stuck part time after spending my first 6mos there as “seasonal.”
Pretty much I’m fed up bc of the shit I’ve gone through (seriously I can make a bullet point list summarizing the ABSOLUTE BULLSHIT that happened in this place— seriously its wtf worthy).
this all has just showed me its time to do better for myself and this new place really feels like that’s where I’m going to achieve that.
