Of all the amazing bonds in LOTR I think the one that doesn’t get talked about enough is the relationship between Frodo and Merry

The amount of unspoken trust they have for each other is out of this world

Whether its “idk what’s going on but I trust you and I’m loyal so I’m coming to”/“I don’t know where you’re taking us but I trust you’ll get us there safely”

Or when Frodo knew he needed to leave the fellowship Merry didn’t know why and he didn’t need to know he trusted Frodo and his judgment and he kept Pippin from joining Frodo

Just today was one of those days where I needed your support and it looks like every single person I see.

It's so competitive this job right... it is by nature... it's like a constant conversation with meself about, you know, being utterly grateful for what you do, right, and I am — *peers into the crowd* — Fookin' hell, I thought summat serious was happening, love! Keep me around, I'm trying to get emotional! There's always one, isn't they. Not me tonight, maybe... Honestly, very funny, by the way...

These are the moments when I need ya. Every single fookin' time ya deliver tenfold. You know what, I've seen some people talking online about it and being a little worried about this shit. Listen, I get to tour all over the fucking world thanks to you guys.

buddie is gonna have such a good love story to for chris to tell theo

so it goes

“first dad and, well, dad hated each other and dad, my ‘original’ dad, came home from his first shift really confused…he kept talking about this man named buck who we saw when abuela went to the hospital after she got hurt looking after me and he said something about a grenade and the firefighter calendar” because obviously eddie had come home from shift and told chris about buck incredibly fast and in a panic

and it keeps going on and on until theo has to go to bed, so the story has been broken into big chunks for each year and honestly in confidence buck told chris about the elf situation a which will be hitting its ten year anniversary next year so he HAS to tell theo and remind denny

and chris will tell the stories OVER and OVER again, and this goes on for months and months and he hopes it’ll turn into years

once about sneaking into the ICU, once about eddie getting shot (sparing the part where eddie gets shot and instead he just gets hurt), he talks about buck taking him out for ice cream and going to maddie’s and spending time with Jee or that time eddie went horseback in new mexico to save buck from bonnie like a fairytale prince (i read a good fic ab that btw) and Chris has told these stories so many times that maddie will hear him from the other room whenever he’s over and know which part he’s talking about

eventually theo being the child he is asks buck at the dining table as they eat breakfast with no apprehension “buck if you’re married to daddy, why don’t you have a ring” and they start full on choking and turning red as chris goes extremely still

and the worst part is they weren’t even together in the first place, but hey now maddie isn’t upset she missed the wedding!!

although chris is wondering about that certificate he found in a folder in the garage with a certificate from the state of Nevada from a few years back… because wasn’t buck also with temu at the time anyways 👀
