In my little head canon, once Mario gets over Bowser and Luigi becoming official, that he just annoys the ever loving shit out of Bowser any chance he gets.

Like full on little troll mode every time he gets a chance.

This little drawing is a little innocent, throwing a snowball, but I might make more of Mario just annoying the ever living hell out of Bowser.
