A little bit on family structure:
Male Telaun actually have next to no social requirements placed on them as far as their specific offspring go. Since there isn't 'marriage' so much as 'these two get together time after time and are considered permenant, don't hit on them' situations, all the male is really expected to do is... have sex. Whether or not the female will choose him as a suitor the next time she wants to breed depends totally on his performance, and whether or not he sticks around voluntarily. On the flip side, once the child is weaned, the mother can technically just hand it over to the clan and carry on with her life.
The entire clan is responsible for raising children. As a result, all the kids of a given age group usually travel in packs, and will answer to any adult of their same tribe as if they were an aunt or uncle. There are still mothers and fathers, and their word overrules everyone else's save the leader's, but it's a less intense role than humans consider it to be. It's not odd for there to be children who don't consider anyone to be their main parent.
-----
Bneveri have family units, and both parents are expected to stay around and raise any children together. Much more humanoid, as far as families go. Children without main parents are always orphans, or considered orphans, and the closest blood relative is expected to take up raising them. If no blood relative is available or willing, it's up to the local social leader to either take them in or leave them on the 'streets.'
-----
Luiyuk have family units, but the entire troupe is considered to be one big family, so the kids tend to get raised a little bit by everyone. Parents are expected to stick around and carry the main burden of raising their child together.
