Hey I was just wondering how long it took you to code Skylar? (You're obviously still updating and improving but how long did it take to originally have her work like she was supposed to?) and how much experience with Java do you have, like how did you learn Java? I'm interested in computer science and just wondering, realistically, how long it would take me to be able to do something as awesome as her. (she's really cool and you're also amazing for doing her!!)

I got her first online about two weeks after I started working on her (that’s taking the rest of life’s responsibility’s into account). As for expierience, well, it’s kinda hard to say. I’ve been working with Java specifically for two years now, but I’ve been programming before then, it’s been a bit of a special interest for me.

While I took courses that introduced me to Java, a lot of learning was self-taught through just doing things. Most of the stuff I learned to make Skylar was learned through making Skylar.

As for how long, well, it all depends. If you’ve never worked with coding before, it’s going to take you a while. I always say that ideally, you should at least know how to do file input/output before taking on something like Skylar.
