“Are you excited for prom?” Flynn questioned as she leaned against the lockers beside yours.
Rolling your eyes, you shrugged. “I suppose. I’m more excited for Julie to go. She’s been talking about it non-stop.”
Closing your locker, you leaned against it facing her.
“Oh, I completely agree-”
Not allowing Flynn to finish her sentence, the quarterback from the football team stood beside you, gently tugging your wrist drawing your attention towards him. Turning to face him, you raised an eyebrow in question as you sent a skeptical glance at Flynn.
“What-”
“W-I-L-L....” The cheer team seemingly came out of nowhere spelling out will you go to prom with me, for the quarterback.
His public display causing everyone in the hall to halt their actions while turning to face the commotion.
Heat quickly danced along your cheeks, as your eyes darted around the hall seeing your fellow students staring at you expectantly. As you stood in place with everyone’s prying eyes, you began shifting from foot to foot as you were overwhelmed with being uncomfortable.
“So?” The quarterback questioned, handing you a bouquet of roses. “Will you go to prom with me?”
Nodding your head, you hummed. “Uh, Yeah.”
The hallway erupted in cheers of excitement as the quarterback raced forward wrapping his arms around your waist, lifting you off the ground as he twirled you around.
---
“So I heard you got asked to prom,” Julie spoke as you walked side by side to the loft.
“Oh. Uh, yeah I did.” You muttered, your mind clouded with thoughts.
“I wouldn’t have pegged you for someone to go to prom.” She spoke, her voice laced with envy.
“Yeah, well.” You spoke. “I wasn’t expecting to go. Especially since..”
“Since what?” Julie stopped walking turning to face you with a raised eyebrow.
“N-Nothing.” You stuttered dropping your gaze to the ground in front of you.
“Uh-huh.”
“It’s just...” Letting out a frustrated huff, you pinched the bridge of your nose. “Can you just drop it?”
Julie gasped as she placed a hand over her beaming smile. Her sudden realization taking you by surprise causing you to jump.
“You like Luke!” She whispers yelled. “I knew it!”
“Shh!” You hissed glancing in the direction of the loft. “Maybe I do.”
Letting out an excited squeal she did a little jog in place. “This changes everything!”
“This changes nothing.” You muttered while frowning.
“What’s going to change?” Reggie questioned as the rest of the boys walked out of the loft joining you and Julie.
“Nothing!” Both you and Julie exclaimed in unison, soon after bursting at the seams with giggles neither of you could contain.
“Okay...” Reggie spoke gazing between you with a confused expression.
---
“Y/N got asked to prom.” Julie suddenly spoke.
“Dude!” You hissed turning to face her, hands in the air.
“You did?” Alex questioned turning to face you, not long after throwing his arms around your shoulders pulling you in for a bone-crushing hug. “That’s so amazing!”
Reggie mirrored Alex’s excitement giving you an enthusiastic hug.
Letting out a frustrated huff, Luke slammed down the items that were in his hands, before rushing out of the loft.
“What’s his problem?” You turned to face the group confusion etched along your features.
---
“Wow.” Flynn and your dad spoke in unison, as you and Julie held each other's hand, carefully walking down the stairs.
“You girls look...” Your dad spoke.
“Breathtaking.” Flynn finished for him, once you both made it down the stairs.
“Okay, okay.” Your dad spoke. “Let’s get some pictures of just the girls.”
Time passed as you awaited the arrival of your date.
“Are you sure you don’t want us to wait with you?” Flynn questioned. “We don’t have a problem waiting.”
“No! You girls go. I’ll meet you there.” You spoke, giving your sister and best friend a hug before helping them into your dad’s car.
“I’ll be back pumpkin.” He spoke kissing the crown of your head.
Standing on the porch, you waved to the car filled with people you cared about pulled out of the driveway.
Sighing you anxiously smoothed down your dress. Flynn had helped you decide on your dress. It was a silk baby pink dress with a sweetheart neckline. A strip of material was replaced with lace mesh that was decorated with pearl beads throughout it. Flynn had helped you do an elegant bun with curled tendrils that framed your face.
As more time passed by, you were overwhelmed by the feeling that he wasn’t coming. Making your way to the loft, you decided you would spend time with guys that want to be with you.
Letting out a sigh, bounded carefully down the stairs that led to the loft. Making it to loft, you lifted your gaze as your jaw fell slack, a gasp fell from your lips.
Standing before you was Reggie, Alex, and Luke, all dressed in black and white tuxes. Gazing around the loft, you were met with stars and moons hanging from the ceiling. Similar to what would’ve been at prom.
“We thought since you got stood up-” Alex elbowed Reggie harshly in the ribs. “We would bring prom to you.”
“Oh, guys!” You exclaimed rushing towards the three guys, pulling them in for a group hug. “You didn’t have to do this.”
“We didn’t do it because we had to,” Reggie spoke. “We did it because we wanted to.”

Finishing your set, you waited for the music to fade. Gazing out into the area where the audience would be, your eyes landed upon your father. His face was as stone as ever. Sighing, you knew he wasn’t impressed with how you had just sung.
“Again.” He spat, not bothering to give his critique nor any praise.
Groaning silently, you turned toward the rest of the band nodding slightly.
---
After you had finished practicing, you made your way backstage.
“Guys.” A voice spoke.
Not bothering to gaze at the voice you continued about your actions.
“You’re Y/N Covington aren’t you?”
Turning to face him, you were met with three guys. One had blonde hair, while the other two shared dark hair.
“And you are?” You questioned sassily.
“We...We’re-”
“I’m Alex.” The blonde spoke giving a slight wave.
“Reggie.”
“Luke.”
The blonde spoke motioning towards the other two guys.
“Nice to meet you.” You spoke holding your hand out expectantly.
Sharing a weary glance, Alex reached to shake your hand.
Being dead for so many years, you were often overwhelmed with the desire for skin on skin contact. Touch was the one thing you had missed more than life itself.
As he hesitantly reached to touch your hand, you were expecting his hand to slip right through yours. Once his hand touched yours, a shared gasp fell from your lips. Gazing at Alex, his expression mirrored yours.
“H-How?” He asked in disbelief as he grasped your hand. “How are we doing this?”
“I-I don’t know.” You spoke squeezing his hand slightly.
“Guys-”
Before you knew it, Reggie had wrapped his arms around you pulling you in for a tight hug.
“Oh.” He whispered. “I’ve missed this.” He muttered into your hair, as he rested his head against your hair. You wrapped your arms around his waist, pulling him tighter against you.
Humming in response, you turned toward Luke waiting for him to pull you in for a hug. Hesitantly he did so, pulling you snug against him. Warmth washed over you as hugged you. Resting your head against his chest, you listened to the phantom rhythm of his heart. Luke rubbed up and down your back soothing you.
---
“Where have you been?” Caleb questioned as you stepped into the house.
“I’ve...I’ve been with some friends.” You muttered dropping your gaze to the ground.
“We don’t have any friends.” He hissed. “It’s just you and me.”
“I-”
“Go to your room.” He spat.
Nodding your head, you rushed toward the stairs, attempting to avoid the inevitable conversation.
“Oh, Y/N?” Caleb’s voice questioned. “Stay away from those Julie and the Phantom Boys.”
---
“Hey.” You spoke greeting the boys as you walked into the garage.
“H-Hey.”
“Oh, Hey, Y/N!”
“What’re you guys doing?” You questioned, plopping down on the couch, gazing at the guys standing before you.
“We were just about to practice.” Reggie sent you a smile.
Returning his smile, you dropped your gaze down to the ground before you.
“Want to stay and listen?”
You hummed in response.
Once they finished, you were met with a few pairs of expectant eyes. “What’d you think?” Luke’s hopeful voice questioned.
“I...I..” Your voice trailed off. “You sound amazing!” You exclaimed, clasping your hands together.
Glancing at the clock, you let out a sigh. “I have to get going.”
“Do you have to go?” Alex questioned while frowning.
You frowned as you hummed.
“Can I walk you home?” Luke questioned taking his guitar off.
“Sure.” You grinned, gazing at him.
---
“So...Caleb’s your dad, huh?”
Letting out a frustrated huff, you nodded your head. “Sadly.”
Nudging his shoulder with yours, you let out a soft laugh, as he chuckled.
“He wants us to join his group,” Luke spoke in a somber tone.
“Oh.” You felt your heart drop.
“Do you think we should?” Luke questioned halting his movements in front of your house. His gaze turning expectantly.
Furrowing your eyebrows together, you were torn between telling him the truth about the club and endorsing the club. After all, Caleb is your father.
Frowning, you gazed at him. Before you knew it, you were leaning forward. Your nose brushed against his, as his hands found your waist taking a few steps forward pressing himself against you. Your breath mingling together at your close proximity.
Closing your eyes you allowed yourself to nuzzled his nose with your own gently. Lifting your hands, you laced them in his chocolate locks. Luke placed his lips on yours hesitantly. His lips were soft as silk. Pulling you impossibly closer, your chests were pressed together as his hands moved down resting comfortably on your hips.
Biting your bottom lip, he pulled back slightly before letting your lip snap back in place. Tracing the seam of your lip, he silently asked for entrance. Opening your mouth you allowed him to explore your mouth with his tongue, lapping against your tongue.
Pulling away before things could get too heated, you both panted as Luke let out a whine chasing you once you pulled away.
“Y/N!” Your father’s voice echoed through your ears. “What do you think you’re doing with...with him!”

"I think you and Julie should get together,” Flynn spoke as she sat across from you at the lunch table.
You shrugged in response as continued eating.
“You both are in bands!” She spoke clapping her hands together filled with excitement. “There’s so many things you guys have in common-”
Ring.
“Saved by the bell.” You muttered under your breath. Grasping your backpack, you tossed it over your shoulder.
Rushing out of the lunchroom, you made a b-line for your locker.
“As I was saying,” Flynn spoke leaning on the lockers besides yours. “You both are competing in battle of the bands..”
Letting out a sigh, you squeezed your eyes shut.
“Okay, okay.” You gave out a sigh of defeat. “I’ll meet with her if that means you’ll lighten up.”
“Yay!” Flynn exclaimed throwing her arms around your shoulders, pulling you in for a bone-crushing hug.
---
"I’m so glad you could make it,” Julie spoke giving you a hesitant hug.
Hugging her back, you nodded.
Leading you to the couch, you gazed at the guys currently sitting.
“W-Who are they?” You questioned raising a confused eyebrow.
“You can see us?” The blonde-haired guy questioned, sitting up straighter.
“What...What do you mean?” You furrowed your eyebrows together in confusion as you stood before them. Lifting your gaze, you looked at Julie for an explanation. Her expression mirrored yours.
“It’s...It’s a long story...”
As Julie and the boys filled you in, you were quick to understand their circumstances.
---
After that day, you and Julie had become quick friends. It was rare either of you was seen without the other. Every day after school you went to Julie’s house and practiced for the battle with the guys. However, the Battle of the Bands was still months away.
Sighing, you sat on the stairs by the loft gazing at the sky.
“Not that I don’t like spending time with you.” Luke’s voice rang through your ears. Dropping your gaze to his, he was quick to sit beside you.
“But shouldn’t you be practicing with your band?”
Nodding your head, you felt overwhelmed by guilt. “Yeah, I should be.”
“Maybe you should join our band,” Luke spoke his voice barely above a whisper.
Furrowing your eyebrows together in confusion, you whipped your head in his direction. His icy blue eyes captivating you. Replacing your feeling of guilt, you were filled with the desire to touch.
Lifting your hand, you cautiously began moving it towards Luke. Glancing upwards, you saw his gaze captured by your hand.
Sighing, you tried you. Placing your hand on his, you were fully expecting it to fall through his as it had done previously. Gasping in unison you gazed at each other.
Butterflies erupted in your stomach. Luke leaned forward as he rested his forehead against yours. Your breath mingling. Lifting your hands, you laced them in his earthy hair. In a matter of seconds, you were straddling his lap. Luke’s hands resting on your hips, as he tilted his chin up attaching his lips to yours.
As his lips captured yours, a content sigh was exchanged between you. Pulling away, you gazed at each other. His eyes holding something you couldn’t quite place a finger on.
The innocent kiss quickly became one of passion. Tracing the seam of his bottom lip with your tongue, a groan fell from Luke’s lips. Tugging you towards his chest, a moan fell from both of your lips. With your chest pressed firmly against his, you slipped your tongue past his lips, licking against his.
Gently, you tugged the ends of his hair causing another groan to tumble from him. The vibrations rumbling from his chest could be felt against your chest. His tongue moving against yours while it was in his mouth.
Pulling away, you both panted in unison. It didn’t take long before his lips were latched onto the skin below your ear, enticing a moan to tumble from your lips.
Allowing your head to fall back, you allowed him better access to your throat. Licking the length of your neck, he sucked and bit a trail making sure to leave bruises in his wake.
“Y/N?” “What are you doing?”
Gasping, you stumbled off of his lap turning to face the members of your band.
“What are you doing here?”
“With the enemy?”
“I...They...They aren’t the enemy.” You spoke crossing your arms over your chest as you gazed at them.
“What’s going on?” Julie questioned as the rest of the guys stood behind you.
“The members of my band are here.” You spoke.
“Oh.”
“That’s it.” They spoke. “You’re out of the band.” Leaving Julie’s house, you let out a saddened sigh.
“I-I...I’m sorry.” You sniffled as you turned to face Julie and the boys. Tears beginning to form in your eyes as they threatened to fall from your eyes.
“Don’t be,” Reggie spoke, wrapping his arms around your shoulders hugging you. Prompting the rest of them to hug you.
“I have an idea,” Alex spoke beaming. “Why don’t you join our band?”
“That’s a great idea!” Julie exclaimed clasping her hands together. “I mean, you’re basically a member of the band anyway! O-Only if you want to...”
Frowning, you pondered the thought.
“What do you say?” Luke questioned, his eyes filled with hope.
Rolling your eyes, a smirk made its way to your lips. “I’d love to join the band.”
