alternate verse where luke does go to uni to pursue something he loves :) maybe fine art, to build on his love of drawing and sketching ......... still the usual lukeness of familial drama and all that comes with that but ... he will be happy even if i have to fight tooth and nail for it!

the inherent language surrounding drug (ab)use and first entering rehab, still with some in his system, yet his intake aid asking to see how 'dirty he still is' did nothing but reinforce the fears of being unworthy, unclean, tainted — of course, made worse by his ocd. the language and system alone, just being within it, is a huge factor as to why he continues to relapse, why he continues to escape all the help his siblings try to offer him but he's so quiet, always the type to crumble in on himself, which is why escapism is easiest. escaping is easier than being a burden to them again.
