hi! :) i wanted to ask you ps question. in this post /post/134612637673 left gif, 2nd row from top, how did you put 2 caps, like, together? like, u put only text that was on other scene and then pasted on another scene, do you remember how did you do this? this looks amazing! love your gifs x

first i took the exact amount of caps from both scenes, like, if the lydia typing scene had 88 caps, i also took 88 caps from the text scene and vice versa (just make sure both scenes have the same amount of caps) phew, then after that, load the files into stack, and make 2 separate gifs, (one for each scene) now feel free to add your coloring (you can only add it on the first file since you’re not really gonna use the second one)

(also that’s not the same psd i originally used for that post because it was so long ago i don’t even remember which one i used lmao)

now the magic begins, convert the animation bar to timeline (if u don’t know how, here’s a quick tutorial) then select all caps and convert them to smart object (do this on both files)

now you can smart sharpen them if you want (select the layer, go to Filter > Sharpen > Smart Sharpen…)

drag the text layer from the second file to the first file and place it like this

in this case, i placed it over the colorings because i’m not gonna need it since i want the text to be WHITE instead of black, and for that, we’re going to add a gradient map layer and use clipping mask, like this

it should look something like this

now select the text layer and change the blending mode (?) to “screen”

and you’re done!!
