Anyway, let's meet

Phoebe Del Campo

Name: Phoebe Del Campo

Background / Story:

Phoebe Del Campo was born and raised in London to a Spanish father and British mother, both teachers. She has one older sister. She went to Cambridge University to get a degree in Art History, and while there, she was housemates and friends with another OC of mine, Isra Atkins. They keep in contact even after Isra is recruited by MI6, and they always make sure to see each other whenever Isra is actually in the country.

When Phoebe completed her Bachelor's Degree, she moved back to London, where she took courses to become an art conservator. She gets an internship and is eventually hired by the British Museum in the Organics Department with a concentration in Egyptian artifacts. There Phoebe meets Steven and the two strike up a friendship. She becomes entangled in the whole Moon Knight situation and shenanigans, and in the end, she just wants to protect Steven. She falls in love with Steven, but with time, she grows to love Marc, too, as she spends time with both of them.

Phoebe Del Campo is a ray of sunshine, and I would protect her with my life. She's such a nerd and a little shy, although much more direct than Steven.

She's still in the developmental phase, so I'm still fleshing out her character, but I can't stop thinking about her, so more to come soon.

Babetta “Babbs” Alcântara

✗ She is the third born of five siblings (aka the middle child syndrome is strong with this one). 

✗ Her parents migrated to England from Lisbon right before she was born in search of a fresh start. Babbs sees her self as a Brit through and through in spite of her heritage because of the fact she was born and raised right outside of London. 

✗ Call her “Babbs.” Nothing less and nothing more.

✗ She is fluent in both English and Portuguese. 

✗ Growing up, she never really felt like she fit into her family. Her siblings all had big aspirations from the beginning, where as Babbs always lived her life day by day.

✗ This feeling only heightened as she reached adulthood, resulting in Babbs moving out into the city and cutting contact with most of her family. 

✗ Babbs worked a variety of jobs to make ends meet, ranging from babysitting to window cleaning. 

✗ Two years prior to the start of her tale, she began a steady job as a barista at a local dive. The elderly owner quickly became fond of the robust young woman. So much, that she passed the business down to her when she passed. 

✗ From there forward, Babbs made it her goal to keep the woman’s legacy alive through her business. 

✗ It was through that business that she first met Steven Grant. Babbs found his quirky nature and endearing, feeling like his energy matched hers. Hence, the pair easily hit it off and became fast friends. 

✗ Babbs and Steven’s friendship blossomed quickly. Almost as if they had known each other forever. They were just a pair of outcasts taking on the world. 

✗ Their relationship doesn't really ever crumble until the night Steven knocks on her door, disheveled, speaking in a weird American accent, and hands her a strange amulet for “safe keeping.”

✗ That’s when she wakes up the next day with the same strange mark she first witnessed on the amulet seared to her back, along with powers she can’t explain nor control. Steven is nowhere to be found for days, leaving a worried and confused Babbs in distress. 

✗ When Steven finally turn up again, he hits her with the bombshell that his name is actually Marc Spector and her beloved Steven Grant may not have ever existed. That, and she now has to join him in doing Khonshu’s bidding. 

✗ While Babbs seemingly takes it all in better than most people, and does as she is instructed for the most part, she in denial about Steven. She refuses to believe that Steven isn’t who she thought he was. Instead, she thinks that Khonshu and Marc have possessed him and that the only way to get him back is to go along with their ploy. 

✗ During all of this, she comes to the realization that her feelings for Steven might not be entirely platonic. All the while, she starts growing fond of Marc and his action hero-like nature. Hence, she becomes torn over what to do and who to save.

✗ Things only get wilder and more complicated when Layla (aka Steven/Marc’s wife) turns up. Although, she gets on well with and even begins to admire Layla, she can’t help but feel like a third (or perhaps fourth) wheel in her presence.

oohh ok so kate's crushes I'm pretty sure are already floating around in her tag somewhere but here we go in chronological order bc that's the kind of person I am;

gwen stacey - kate's first girlfriend, first hearbreak, the full ride,,, kate fell in love with gwen when they were fourteen, and they broke up after a year. kate still kind of resents gwen and the two of them will most likely never really end up being friends

michelle jones - childhood friends to puppylove crushes ftw baby,, these two love each other so much and while it's completely platonic now they've both admitted to having a crush on the other when they were like twelve lol,, neither of them knew but they had a good laugh about it when they found out at sixteen

liz allen - this is such a small crush it's hardly worth mentioning but I'll mention it regardless. kate develops a crush on liz during her first year at midtown, liz is a year above her and gives the freshmen a tour - including kate who can't focus on a single thing liz says because this girl is so damn pretty I can't even walk straight

peter parker - she falls for peter sometime after she learns that he's spider-man,, they're rivals for a long time before that so the switch to romantic feelings for kate is very confusing but fun to write lol

isaac albright - isaac is an original character that appears during the blip, which is also when kate meets him. she's still heavily grieving peter so when she notices that she's starting to like isaac she absolutely hates herself for it

2. Do you think you would get along with your oc if you could meet them? What things would you talk about?

we would definitely get along! most likely we would be talking about our shit taste in men

4. Is your oc a daredevil, or more of a scaredy cat? What is the most daring thing they’ve done in their life?

I think I would say more of a scaredy cat, but it depends on the situation. the most daring is probably helping stop the butterflies.

6. How much thought does your oc put into what they wear/look like? Any reason why?

not really a whole lot, just because she’s never been much of a fashion person. she’s definitely a comfort over appearance person.

8. What kind of flavours does your oc like? How much spice can they handle?

she LOVES anything sour. I’d say she can handle a decent amount of spice.

10. What are some of your oc’s pet peeves? How do they handle it when the annoyance doesn’t stop?

loud chewing and making noises with your mouth in general. usually she tries to leave to get away from it and calm down.

12. How well would your oc handle being placed in a leadership position?

fairly well! her job requires it sometimes so she doesn’t shy away from it.

14. What is your oc’s speech like? How loud are they usually? Do they have an accent or a stutter?

she’s pretty quiet for the most part. she’s more of an observer unless what she says can help the situation. her voice is a bit low and it can take her a minute to really formulate a sentence sometimes.

16. How affectionate is your oc? How do they convey their affection? By being touchy, or through more subtle ways?

she’s very affectionate but she’s more subtle in public than in private. ronnie is a gift giving or acts of service type, so she likes to help people with tasks and give them things that are specific to that person to show she cares.

18. How physically strong is your oc? Is their agility or endurance better?

I would say her physical strength is pretty average. definitely better agility.

20. Does your oc have any favourite games to pass the time? What other hobbies do they have?

monopoly and the license plate game! she doesn’t really have any hobbies outside of work, but she does do tarot.

1. What common traits do you share with your oc? What about them is the least like you?

Phoebe is super nosy but likes to pretend she isn't, and we definitely share that trait. I'm too polite to ask, but I want you to tell me everything.

Phoebe was able to get a degree. I have failed at that twice now.

2. Do you think you would get along with your oc if you could meet them? What things would you talk about?

I definitely think we would get along, but mostly after I got comfortable with her. Phoebe is open, positive, and very enthusiastic, which usually scares me off. I don't trust people like that. But I think she'd wear me down, and we could turn out to be great friends in the end. We'd geek out over history and books.

3. How competent would your oc be in a survival situation? Would they be better off on their own or in a group?

Phoebe would be more likely to survive in a group. She's an art conservator who knows a lot of scientific shit, but putting it to practical use in a survival situation? That's a whole other thing. She would die on her own. She's a good one, but she would panic.

4. Is your oc a daredevil or more of a scaredy-cat? What is the most daring thing they’ve done in their life?

Lol, Phoebe is not a daredevil by any stretch of the imagination. She likes her comfort zone. The most daring thing she's ever done is when she follows Steven and Marc into the whole Moon Knight stuff.

5. What is your OC's patience like? When waiting for something, are they able to sit still, or do they fidget? How do they fidget?

Phoebe's patience knows almost no bounds. As an art conservator, she is accustomed to waiting for results and that things take time. She fidgets mostly in social situations, and it's always with something on her person, like her ID badge when she's at the museum or a piece of jewelry when she's not.

2. How do they listen to their music? iPod, mp3, computer, cd, records, etc.?

Spotify on her phone. Who doesn't these days?

4. Do they wear their hair down when they sleep or tied up / braided?

Hair down, but she will occasionally braid it if she has to get up early and wants to make the curling process a little quicker because, yes, she curls her hair every morning.

6. What do they normally dream about? Nightmares or nonsense?

Phoebe isn't someone who dreams a lot, but it's usually about her work when she does. After working on the conservation of an ancient Egyptian cat statue, she dreamt about those a lot. It was a little disturbing.

8. What do they sleep in? PJs, normal clothes, nothing?

Undies and an old t-shirt.

10. What shampoo scent do they like the best and why?

She likes anything that smells like citrus fruits.

12. Do they prefer sleeping alone or with someone else?

With someone else 👀

14. Do they stay up too late? Do they like staying up?

Phoebe has a very strict nighttime routine. She likes to be in bed and ready to sleep at 11 pm. She'll obviously alter it if she has plans, but if she's just at home, that's what she likes to do.

16. Do they prefer taxis/buses/subways, etc.? Or none of the above?

Phoebe likes to walk but will take the tube if it's too far away to do so.

18. Do they prefer cats or dogs? Or neither?

She definitely prefers cats despite them haunting her dreams that one time.

20. What do they hate being teased about? Are they teased often?

Phoebe has an older sister, so it's safe to assume that she does get teased quite a bit. About what, I don't know. Maybe her being a massive nerd who will talk your ear off about her work.

22. Do they have a fear they want to conquer but haven’t yet?

I haven't given this any thought, but maybe putting herself out there more? I think I mentioned that she's shy and kind of stuck in her comfort zone. She's working on it, though, and meeting Steven certainly helps.

24. Do they have a short temper? What’s most likely to set it off?

Not at all. Phoebe is very even-tempered and patient, but she doesn't like being lied to, so that's definitely something that could set her off.

26. What are they most passionate about? What could they debate about for hours?

I think we've established that Phoebe is a massive nerd, so she could talk about art and the conservation thereof for ages. She could talk about her latest projects for ages, which sometimes drives Isra up the wall - it's not what she wants to talk to her friend about when they actually see each other.

28. Do they have kids? Do they want kids? If so, how many?

Phoebe doesn't currently have any kids, but she definitely wants them. She's not sure how many.

30. Is there something about their personality they want to change?

I more or less answered this earlier, but she wishes she wasn't quite as shy as she is. She feels like she misses out on a lot because of it.

32. Do they critique others easily? Do they judge from afar?

Not in the slightest. Phoebe is very forgiving and sympathetic, and in her mind, people only do bad things when they've been pushed to their limit. This obviously isn't the case, and she's in for a rude awakening that could alter her worldview.

34. Are they the jealous type? What are they most likely to be jealous of?

Romantically? Not really, though there are exceptions. Professionally? Absolutely. She dreams of leading a conservation project where she gets to make all the calls, but she's a junior conservator, so that won't be happening for quite some time.

36. Would they rather be alone or in a relationship?

38. Do they have parents/parental figures? Do they have a good relationship with them?

Phoebe has an excellent relationship with her parents. She talks to them a couple of times a week and goes to Sunday dinner with them as often as she can.

40. Do they have a big family or a small family? No family?

Phoebe is from a normal-sized family. Parents and two kids.

42. Are they happy in their current living situation? Why or why not?

Phoebe loves her flat. It may be small, but it's close to shops, not far from her work, and her neighbors aren't terrible. She would love to have someone to share it with, so she's not alone all the time.

44. Did they go to college, or are they attending? Did/do they like it?

Phoebe has a BA in History of Art from Cambridge University and took two years worth of art conservation and science courses at University College London. She loved every minute of her time at university and sometimes wishes she could do it all over again

46. If they could control one thing in the world, what would it be?

It's trivial, but the weather. Phoebe's a sunshine kind of girl, but not overly hot because that makes the conservation lab unbearable to work in.

48. Do they have social media? Do they like it or hate it? Obsess over it?

She does. Phoebe's preferred platform is instagram, and she uses it to share some of her work and her interests, but mostly so she can spy on her sister, who lives a far more exciting and social life than Phoebe does.

50. Where do they see themselves in 2 / 5 / 10 years?

In two years, she'd love to be in a steady relationship, preferably with the person she's going to be with for the rest of her life.

In five years, she'd like to be married to that person. She would also like to have been promoted to at least senior conservator and have gotten to lead some projects of her own.

In ten years, she'd like to have kids and be settled with her partner. She would love to have been named Head of Conservation in the Organics Department and have led several conservation projects and other assignments like it. She'd also love to write a book detailing her life and work, but there's not really a timeline on that. It's more of an eventual dream.

This took me forever to answer, but thank you so much for sending these in. I loved diving more into Phoebe's character!
