Lessons from a three year old....

Tonight putting Aidan to bed:

Me: singing a lullaby

*finish* - kiss him softly on he cheek, 'Goodnight Aidan, I love you'

Aidan: *opens his eyes* 'I love you too mummy.'....

*I go to leave*

Aidan: 'Mummy!  When you kiss someone when their eyes are closed and they're asleep, you wake them up!!'

Me: 'Oh sorry honey, well, close your eyes and go back to sleep.'

Aidan: *on the verge of tears* 'I CAN'T now I'm all waked up!!'

Me: 'ok ok, do you want me to sing the lulabye again?'

Aidan: nods his head and gets comfy again

Me: *big sigh* sits back down on the bed and sings the whole lullaby again, finish and tip toe quietly out of bed even though I can tell by his breathing he is still awake...

... the things I do for my kids!
