okay yall i don’t even have the book of bill and I was much too young for the first cipherhunt —yet the discourse is getting to me (and this could be a total reach) but I MAY have found something to consider:
Okay so we pretty much know that this is in reference to Shawn Mullin’s song “Lullabye,” so out of curiosity I checked out the song and didn’t really find much in it that stuck out to me. Then I decided to look at the album as a whole and I noticed something…interesting
See that song there in green? TWIN rocks? Oregon?? Hmmmmmm
Anyway I gave the song a listen and…..that’s where I’m at now. Like I said I’m no decoder and I am definitely missing out on some of the lore…but cmon…CMON. Could this be a lead? This just feels SO Gravity Falls coded and I know I’m reading into things but THATS THE POINT RIGHT??
Anyway would love to know if anyone else looked into this. Maybe there’s discourse on Reddit or Discord but idk. I know some of yall out here reading TGG in full so anyone wanna take a crack at analyzing this album with me?? Anyway that’s my addition to this discussion (for now…maybe I’ll be buying The Book soon)
Much love to my fellow gravity falls fans 💛💛💛

He most definitely would~
i was gonna make a thing about "lullabye" from the arknights ost but halfway through i realized i was wrong so instead im just gonna post the intro melody vs. the verse melody and say how much love how simple the opening is, its all very like....expected and plain chord movements,
Fm -> C -> Fm -> F -> Bbm -> Fm -> G -> Fm
like the G at the end is a good twist, but like, change that to a C and its literally the same chords for the tetris theme. literally just using a lot of 1-4-5 chord patterns
but then you get to the verse!!! and its !!! all switched up!
Fm -> Eb -> Db -> C7 -> Fm -> Db -> Caug -> C
like its a song in a minor key, but with that darker tone in mind, it just does a lot of step downs (F to E to D to C is like going lower/down for me) with nothing but major chords. this really gives the song a dreamlike feel for me, the ear knows its supposed to be dark but youre hit with several "happy chords" in a row and then immiediately going to C7 (could also be an Edim), a super dissonant chord and commanding bass notes, its just like... a strange clash/mix of emotions. like it makes me think of something trying to make you feel safe when you absolutely should NOT trust it and are not safe
anyways this songs super pretty. i love the chords, i love the melody. love the it everything. heres the full song if anyone wants to listen and compare or something. im using 0:40 as the start of the verse
