I absolutely adore Luly, he feels so alive! I started writing my own OC's story in January and it grew legs, so now I'm working on an unexpected sequel. Do you think you'll ever write a fic for Luly's story, or are you more comfortable with a comic format?
Aaaah omg thank you!! I think part of what makes him feel so alive is the many little quirks I gave him. Also he very much has an existence outside of 'being Marco's partner', I just usually spend the free time I have to draw these gays being cute together lmao.
Regarding the fic/comic question, as a non native english speaker I am way more comfortable with the medium of comics, though they require more work. I looooove making comics. Have a WIP shot of one:
When I originally made Luly, I did a bunch of random comics of interactions between him and random One Piece characters, though those are all outdated at this point and will only be posted once I'll launch my (mostly free) Patreon to collect my works on.
The comics in question are very conceptual and look much like this, it's mostly to explore ideas and figure out Luly's reactions/body language etc.
Luly's entire story is on his toyhouse page now, but my writer friend had to greatly edit it to improve flow. My brain just works more visually I guess
I do however have an idea for a fic that would be about Luly answering his younger sister Solfa's invitation back to his home island Cantabella. She got engaged to a stranger not from the island, and wants Luly there since he is the only family member she a) trusts and b) who has ever left the island and seen the world. Solfa wants her older brother to make sure he's not some scoundrel and oh- surprise surprise, the fiance ends up being sus. And next to that Luly would have to deal with returning to a family that is not fond of him at all.
Anyway excuse the wall of text, Luly is just on my brain 24/7 and I love yapping about him.
