I’m reviving my Birdette AU Fic.

I kinda realized how much I actually enjoyed this horror AU a lot and if this post gets enough traction maybe I’ll finish my first chapter and post it here.

Ah, with the morning of our wedding so near, how sweet to my/your tender husband is this beautiful, charming little headdress that Susanna made herself. 🕯️❤️🪶

Crossover between Disney's Beauty and the Beast (the original, not the remake) and Mozart's opera The Marriage of Figaro, with Lumière as Figaro and Babette as Susanna. It's a concept I already pitched here months ago, but I was only inspired to actually put it down on paper for a friend's birthday today (it took me a few days to complete).

The text I wrote is from "Cinque, dieci, venti", the opening duet of the opera, one of my absolute favorite opera pieces ever, and I'm not exaggerating. Both couples are SO similar to each other in so many ways that it's been driving me crazy. I'd been thinking about expanding this little idea into a full-blown AU for months, but it proved difficult and I gave up. Nonetheless, I've been getting so much serotonin just from imagining LumiBabs singing this duet 🥰🥰

And for the first time, I used a scanning app instead of simply photographing my art!!! It does show the flaws more (and some of the colors look kinda off), but it also makes it look better and more clear.

I based the position they're seated in on this production; it's the very first production of this opera that I ever watched. (Alternate link here, with better image quality but without subs.)

The wedding veil is based on the one in this production, one of my absolute favorites I ever watched to this day. (Here's a full production link; I know, the vid is not perfect, but it's the best I could find rn.)

In order to stay nice to the spirit of Susanna, I decided to give Babette a more modest outfit than she has in the movie proper, and I based it on @thisisnotlunatic's take, which you can scroll through here.

Saw Vampire Lumiere so I hopped on the Bandwagon

My absolute FAVORITE vampire troupe is starving vampires who are so desperate for blood they’ll do anything for it. Even if it means killing those they love. It’s kinda chill I mean Babs is lowkey into it (she has no idea he’s actually eating her lmaooooo) This lowkey sucks but if YOU like it maybe I’ll make more :)
