Also known as: how I spent my Valentine's Day this year. My very first drawing of human!LumiBabs!!! They're dancing a tango because in the stage version, they have a tango interlude during "Be Our Guest" (in addition to this music/dance genre just suiting them so much as a couple).

The music I wrote above them is from the famous tango "Kiss of Fire", for reasons I certainly don't need to explain 😂 (but while coloring it, I also had "Sway" by Dean Martin playing in my head at one point, which I feel also suits them.)

Ah, with the morning of our wedding so near, how sweet to my/your tender husband is this beautiful, charming little headdress that Susanna made herself. 🕯️❤️🪶

Crossover between Disney's Beauty and the Beast (the original, not the remake) and Mozart's opera The Marriage of Figaro, with Lumière as Figaro and Babette as Susanna. It's a concept I already pitched here months ago, but I was only inspired to actually put it down on paper for a friend's birthday today (it took me a few days to complete).

The text I wrote is from "Cinque, dieci, venti", the opening duet of the opera, one of my absolute favorite opera pieces ever, and I'm not exaggerating. Both couples are SO similar to each other in so many ways that it's been driving me crazy. I'd been thinking about expanding this little idea into a full-blown AU for months, but it proved difficult and I gave up. Nonetheless, I've been getting so much serotonin just from imagining LumiBabs singing this duet 🥰🥰

And for the first time, I used a scanning app instead of simply photographing my art!!! It does show the flaws more (and some of the colors look kinda off), but it also makes it look better and more clear.

I based the position they're seated in on this production; it's the very first production of this opera that I ever watched. (Alternate link here, with better image quality but without subs.)

The wedding veil is based on the one in this production, one of my absolute favorites I ever watched to this day. (Here's a full production link; I know, the vid is not perfect, but it's the best I could find rn.)

In order to stay nice to the spirit of Susanna, I decided to give Babette a more modest outfit than she has in the movie proper, and I based it on @thisisnotlunatic's take, which you can scroll through here.

I think you can tell this one cost my sweat, tears and blood, I don't think I have ever used my eraser as violently in years.

5 seconds to disaster (or, at least, to lots of screaming).

Also known as: Lumière and Babette from Disney's Beauty and the Beast doing the famous Lift™ from Dirty Dancing, but of course, he gets so caught up in the heat of the moment (no pun intended) that he accidentally singes her feathers. She's used to it by now, but we'll see.

My very first attempt at BatB fanart, I started this last night and finished it this morning. It came about because Jerry Orbach, who voiced Lumière, also played the dad in Dirty Dancing, and of course my brain HAD to smash the two together, especially in regards to my current brainrot OTP.

Babysitting gone horribly wrong.

Well, not babysitting per se, but during Belle and the Prince's engagement/wedding party, Lumière and Babette are so busy exploring each other's bodies post-curse that they don't notice Chip helping himself to a sip of Babette's champagne. Fortunately, he only has a small sip before gagging at the taste of alcohol, at which point the two lovebirds notice him and spend the rest of the night keeping a VERY close watch on him lest they face the wrath of Mrs. Potts 😂

(No, Babette doesn't drink her champagne with a straw; Chip was the one carrying it around for some reason.)

This one took me four days to complete, three of which were spent trying to figure out how to properly draw Lumière and Babette's mouths 😅 Speaking of, this might be the first-ever publicly-available fanart of LumiBabs kissing (that I know of), and I'm pretty proud of myself for getting the work done after months of begging in vain 😍

Sultan wasn't initially supposed to be part of the picture, but Chip is so tiny that I had to get creative. (Also, I'm sorry I got Sultan's colors completely wrong, but I still don't have any pencils of the right colors 😭)

Here hoping that I end up drawing more art of these two 😁
