Another, slightly different view of the Trash and Service Counter in the new coffee shop in the HERE Building on Green St in Champaign, IL. I really like how the 11 foot height of this piece plays with perspective. It almost looks contoured when viewed from an angle like this. I took this project from drawing to reality, but I wish I could say that I designed the piece. At about the 12 hour mark today, I thought I could hear my truck whispering, "C'mon, man. Let's just go home. I'll do all the work. You just push the pedals and turn the wheel. And I've got AIR CONDITIONING!" But I stuck it out. Both of these 18" x 11' walnut wall panels is assembled, sanded, trimmed, and first coated on all three important sides. That sets me up to second coat tomorrow and be ready for install Monday. It's a deception in Clamptown! It looks like a 2" slab. It feels like a 2" slab. Shoot, it even *tastes* like a 2" slab. (Don't ask me how I know.)
