Although I didn't conduct a lot of research on this particular topic, I've been pretty fixated on the use of projection mapping in the arts. But I remember watching this video (circa Fall 2014) and wondered why the person of color was playing a shoot em' up game, while the white girl is playing Super Mario Kart. Hmmmm... Aside from the overt gendered play, I started to think about the different uses of projection mapping and how VR might be used for the ultimate gaming experience. It's definitely still on my mind and, at some point, I'll cover it (perhaps, in a book) at some point. While VR play has grown rapidly in popularity, it is worth thinking about the trans-mediation occurring between player, game, and the architecture of a space. What happens to the imagination? What happens to cognition and our (depth) perception?

ANYMALS -Kids Grow Better Under The Sun (Starlit Everglades Remix)
I'm not sure if it's just me, but it seems like compilations have become all the rage in this current internet environment. Of course, there's probably an easy explanation, like how easy it has become in recent years to post and share music. I came across the fantastic Lumenous 2 compilation yesterday, and with so many of my favorite artists on there, this one's definitely a keeper. "Kids Grow Better Under The Sun" struck me instantly, with its beautifully established mood and creative elements with interesting time signatures. Head on over to Bandcamp and grab the whole 29 track album for free. Enjoy.
