I didn't really play VIII so I'm aware that I must be missing details that otherwise a gameplay can't provide unless it's a complete one but I can't really see where the fact that some people claim Seifer to be a villain is coming from. Anyways, I can't but simply admire your portrayal from afar since quite a time from various blogs, and I genuinely enjoy the depth you're giving him and specially the will of showing people "this is him" not with words but with your writing instead. Keep it up!

The best summary/article I've ever read about Seifer is one which just... validated so, so much of what I felt for Seifer's character. It's titled 'Misplaced heroics and the tragedy of Seifer Almasy' (hence, my old url misplacedxheroics) It's very easy to read too -- and gives the best explanation to Seifer's character.

But yeah, he’s far from a villain. I try not to get so salty over it as much but... occasionally those little moments pop in and swept up in the tell, instead I definitely like showing it through RP. I like to think that I share different facets with him to everyone. No one RP will ever be identical to the other. :3

Perhaps simply trying to locate the Oracle proved to be a time consuming task, but the commander was quick in reaction when he heard news that his trusted men were able to find her and bring her to safety before conflicts arose at the Disk of Cauthess. Ardyn prowled the area, eager to capture the Oracle for his own plans, he was sure, but Ravus made sure to be faster than that slimy chancellor. No one was to bring harm to the Oracle. And if they did, they’d have to go through him first.

So when the two armed infantrymen guided Lunafreya towards the rendezvous point he established with him, the commander’s eyes quickly locked onto the Oracle, expression turning from a cold and aggravated glare to one of softening worry. “Lunafreya!” He disregarded the soldier attempting to give him a briefing of the enemy’s whereabouts as he quickly moved towards the escorts that lead Lunafreya to him. He nearly threatened to knock them aside should they get in his way, but the cruel glare he gave to them was commanding enough for them to stand aside as Ravus rushed to his sister’s side.

“Going so carelessly to forge the covenant with the Archaean. And alone at that? How foolish of you! And where in the Astral hell is Gentiana? Should she not be there to assist you?” He growled in frustration, gently tilting Lunafreya’s cheeks from left to right, her head up and down to check for any sort of injuries or marks. As far as he could tell, she was only a bit scuffed up, but nothing too severe. It did little to relax him.

But what did calm him down was when he slowly guided Lunafreya against his chest and hugged her tight with his fleshed-out arm. His lips pressed tightly together, eyebrows furrowing as he tried not to let the shaking nerves in his breath and voice become apparent to her. Despite trusting her instincts and hoping that she would succeed in her ambitions – no matter how ludicrious they were as she attempted to support the Prince – he was worried sick. For her to run off and attempt such dangerous actions alone… They already lost their mother and their kingdom. Ravus refused to lose someone else so dear to him.

He let out a soft breath, lips pressing against the top of her head as he closed his eyes and allowed himself the moment to relax. “Always so reckless, Lunafreya… I swear, you and your antics will be the death of me.”

He’s feeling a strange mix of reverent and grateful and nervous and it all shows itself in his constant fidgeting and nonstop chatter. He holds up his camera, jiggles it a little. “Ooh, ooh! Maybe over here? The light’s perfect over here!”

Time had passed, he knew that much, from the time Tenebrae was taken from them. A loss of life and of an ally, a severance of ties.

Regis sat high on his throne, looking down ‘pon whomever may entire the large doors. Though, once Lunafreya was announced to be entering, he lost the stern look on his face. He softened, and was caught almost off his guard once her name was called.

“Luna.” He had started before realizing he had uttered a single syllable. She had come on official business as Oracle, business that must be attended to.

The King met with her afterward, before the fireworks display and the meeting with the Emperor of Niflheim. Though he was weakened, her presence brought him to life.

“With holy and royal affairs aside, it is good to see you once more. Have these long years been kind to you?”

There is way too much jealousy and negativity in this thing we call a hobby. This is supposed to be fun and instead, we end up getting 'rp confession' blogs and 'salty memes' and overall just a ton of places for people to let out their frustration and it's like wtf???

Let's just…. stop complaining and start role-playing the things we want to enjoy. I'm going to call myself out on this because I get so wrapped up in a lot of this too and I've reached a point where I see something on the dash and I'm just…… ?????

Go. Do Things. Go and do things that make you happy. Stop getting jealous. Stop getting possessive and weird. Stop getting angry. Stop getting negative. Just…. Find an alternative outlet. Find something fun and productive.

I just want to see people genuinely enjoying themselves here. The dash is so much better when we’re all enjoying it.
