being into gundam is difficult because when the fans aren't causing enough problems, the official source material decides to start digging through the bottom of the barrel
gundam has great women in it like relena but the fanbase will never acknowledge that
im actually a bit wowed by symphonia, if only for how casually the world building is treated. it really struck me how people are talking about the human ranches and death counts in them without fanfare bc its normal to the people of this world and it doesnt need to be further explained. there's no need to make a big deal out of something that's just a fact of life, and at times lloyd is being treated as the weird one for pushing back against the idea that This Is Normal And There's Nothing To Be Done. i also love the general off putting vibes draping over a lot of the other world building details. idk im totally into it, even if im struggling a bit with the combat being janky bc its an older game. i only just beat the second seal dungeon but count me very intrigued by what's going on here
i think i finally hit a dud with tales of when i made the logical decision of picking up xillia 2 after liking the first one so much i was not expecting medical debt simulator
i finished tales of vesperia yesterday and while i enjoyed it i feel like so much of the ending was unearned bc the game has a frustrating habit of bringing up interesting ideas but then dropping every single one without explaining it further, leading to a dramatic final confrontation where im essentially like. who the fuck is this guy? objectively i know but it was so poorly laid out i was watching the ending like Ok I Guess We're Doing This Now. its kind of fascinating to see a story have an aversion to following through on any lead they set up to pull a new one out of nowhere in the last like 3 hours of the story
happy pride month! this is my yearly reminder that ace/bi/pan people belong in the lgbt community! ty <3
with how the splat 3 fanbase is acting about splatfests, you'd think there's something real and tangible on the line and not like, superficial bragging rights and a few extra snails. idk why people are sitting here and getting angry at shiver as if she's a real person who has any actual will to do anything and not just pixels on a screen, especially when there are legitimate issues with how splatfests are designed and run in splat3, and that's the devs and nintendo's fault, not shiver. she's not real and she can't do anything to you. and i've seen way more complaining about the concept of "toxic shiver stans who always pick shiver and ruin it for everyone" than i have any actual evidence that these kind of people exist on a mass scale. it really feels like that kind of person is a guy that the fanbase made up to be mad at every time they lose. i agree that there are huge problems with splat 3 but the moment someone lays the blame on shiver they throw all credibility out the window. it's not shiver, there's no evil cult of shiver stans manipulating the splatfests, and don't get me started on how people are talking about the asian playerbase with these splatfests.
