Just for fun, I decided to take a figure drawing course at the local rec center. It's been a blast! I've probably learned more about drawing in my first session than I have in the last 10 years. I'm basically unlearning everything I've ever been taught about drawing people. The first lesson, gesture drawing, is extremely hard to get used to. Thinking about how the human form flows rather than focusing on contour and details is blowing my mind.
The image in this post is some of my first 30 second gesture practice drawings that I'm using as sort of a "before" drawing. I'll keep posting my practice so that I can have a record of my progress and maybe my "after" drawings will show improvement.
PS. I drew an old man's butt hole today.
