i might be the only one actually interested in this show on this site but! in case someone else is also here, a little maybe lost in translation info!
when phi is demanding to know why tawan left him, in thai, he's not actually using the most common word for why. a more accurate translation, i think, would be:
what did you leave me for?
มึงทิ้งกูไปเพราะอะไร
(apparently google translate does not agree with me on this, but it feels like a very deliberate choice of words. you would generally use ทำไม instead of เพราะอะไร at the end of such a sentence.)
and to me, that hits harder? like this was a transaction of some sort. phi and his love, their relationship, the time they spent together, had a certain amount of value in obviously both their lives. to phi, from what flashbacks we've been able to see so far, that was perhaps the biggest thing. "the person i want to see on that billboard most is you" and such. and apparently, he thought that tawan had the same idea. he thought that their life together, them being together and successful together was more important than simply being successful or famous or whatnot.
and then, on the day their dream (i do think phi thought of it as theirs alright), tawan backs out. out of the blue, he just up and leaves. and breaks up with phi via fucking text??? the worst of the worst. absolute asshole behavior. so of course, phi thinks that whatever it was that made him leave must have represented a greater value in his life than phi. it was worth more than his love, their relationship, their life, their dream.
no matter how much phi wanted them, tawan had something that he just... wanted more. phi was tossed aside (and with that text, holy fuck it does look like tossing aside) in favor of the next shiny thing in tawans life, the bigger dream, the greater value.
he was abandoned because tawan had other plans, he was left for something else.
