[One Hadrosaur Rides Away.] Tabitha: Once you find Leroy, just escort him to where he wants to go. Understood? Luna: Of course. Eleanore: [happy ukulele music in head, checked out hours ago] Leonard: Why aren't we bringing him back? Tabitha: Quite frankly, I understand his reasons for running away. I wouldn't want parents like this either. Dolores, clear across from Hell Creek Formation on migration: Finally! Somebody sees it my way!
Shiny hugging Luna!
Shiny looks so tiny next to Luna because she is so tall!
Finished the siblings, lol
Sonny and Luna sharing a braincell while also staring at their little brother
Leonard’s not wrong, btw
{One Hadrosaur Rides Away Arc}
(Meanwhile in the bush)
Eleanore: *sees Leroy up ahead* Hadrosaur ho!
Luna: You see him?!
Eleanore: Yep! He’s just up ahead!
Leonard: Let’s go.
(The siblings rush over to Leroy, but they’re still a little bit away)
Luna: Leroy! There you are! Thank evolution you’re safe!
Leroy: *turns and yells at them, immediately having a feeling why they’re approaching him* Go away! I’m not going back there, and nothing you say will convince me otherwise!!
(The siblings stop in their tracks, being sure to give him plenty of space)
Leroy: Who are you?!
Eleanore: I’m Eleanore Troodon, and the two others with me is my oldest sister, Luna and my older triplet brother, Leonard. The Dinosaur Train conductor, Sonny- or Mr. Conductor, is our older brother
Leroy: How do I know you’re telling the truth?! You three could be any random set of Troodon Town troodons!
Leonard: Our mother is coming back, she’ll verify our identities!
Leroy: I’m still not going back!
Luna: We’re not taking you anywhere you don’t want to go to
Leroy: Who sent you to look for me, then?
Luna: Your parents sent us to look for you-
Leroy: I knew it!!!
Leonard: But our own mother told us to find you, and escort you to where YOU want to go, so we’re doing what our mom told us to do when we found you
Leroy: *looks confused, and cautious* I don’t understand. Why would you go behind my mom’s back like this?
Eleanore: Our own mother was born and raised in the wild, so she knows how it really works out here; she told us that even though this will anger Lorraine- no one can force you to go back to your parents now that you’re in wild territory, and because you’re considered a young adult out here, city folk laws don’t apply nor are they enforced beyond city folk structures, like train platforms
Leroy: How can I know that I can trust you?
Leonard: Like I said a little earlier, our mother is on her way back, please stay with us until then?
Leroy: I want to go to the old herd-
Luna: We’ll escort you there!
Leroy: Why?
Eleanore: If we all travel to your herd together, at least wild troodons would be less likely to target you
Leroy: I’ve been fine on my own! I don’t need an escort!
Luna: So far! You still need an escort Leroy. As children of a wild born troodon, we know that many wild born dinosaurs- like troodontids aren’t afraid to play the long game!
Leroy: How come they or any other wild dinosaurs haven’t made their move yet?!
Luna: Either by sheer luck, or if you were hugged by one or both of your parents just before you ran away, there would be just enough of their scent to make wild born dinosaurs a little more hesitant to make their move, believing that one or both of your parents could be somewhere nearby
Eleanore: The reason you managed to survive this long with the scent could be either the hunting dinosaurs lost interest waiting and went to hunt something else, or they’re waiting to know for certain that you’re on your own
Leonard: If there’s no residual scent from your parents, from a hug for example, it would be the sheer luck route. Regardless, it’s extremely lucky to for us to even find you alive, considering you were on your own for so long, most dinosaurs your age- well… mother told us to not get our hopes up, and to be prepared for if we found your remains instead…
Leroy: *coming to the realization that he technically shouldn’t be alive at the moment* And for the larger species?
Luna: It’s migration season for many of the larger species. There’s a very good chance that many of the larger theropods are gone, following their food sources. Because of that, you’ve been extremely lucky that there’s less larger carnivores in the area right now
Leroy: …
Leonard: Mom would be back within the next couple of hours, you can catch up on some much needed rest until she’s back and we’ll finish your journey
Leroy: Okay…
Luna: Let’s hunker down somewhere for a while until Mom gets back, it smells like there’s a nasty storm coming, travelling in a storm is just begging for trouble…
(As the group head back into the part of the tree line, Eleanore asks Leroy something)
Eleanore: Leroy. Have you caught your sister’s scent at all while you were out here?
Leroy: No, why?
Eleanore: I’m not going to lie to you. Your sister ran off after you when she learned that you ran away and is also missing
(Leroy’s eyes widen, full of guilt and anger. Luna places a firm hand on his shoulder)
Luna: BEFORE you decide that we need to go back and look, we’re more likely to be closer to your herd than we are to Lily.
Leroy: But she’s out there! ALONE!!!
Leonard: Once we take you to your herd, we can ask for their help in looking for her! We’ll have better luck finding her that way rather than running blindly through the bush just on our own
Eleanore: And again- given our small numbers, we’re just begging for trouble if we get reckless, and by universe’ rules regarding luck, you already really pushed it
Leroy: But you’re troodons! You said if we stick together we won’t be targeted!
Luna: I said we’re less likely to get targeted by wild troodontids, that doesn’t mean if they decide to get brave enough, they won’t try… because we have a hybrid lineage, we are unfortunately smaller than most Stenonychosaurus out here
Eleanore: Bitch, you’re being generous with the Stenonychosaurus bit of our lineage… -_-
Luna: I heard that!
Leonard: ANYWAYS! We have better luck finding Lily if we take you to your herd, and ask them for help! Not to mention, storms bring rain, and rain brings flash floods, it’s a death sentence if we’re not careful in such weather
Leroy: *looks torn between looking for Lily, and listening to the siblings* …
Leroy: Okay, let’s go to the herd, and then ask them for help to find Lily…
Leonard: I promise that will be the first thing we ask from the herd once we find them
Leroy: Okay…
(The group hunkers down to shelter from the bad weather)
[Post Glimpses of Madness]
Trevor: *grumbling about something, and rage gardening* …
Luna: What’s wrong with Dad?
Tabitha: *hands the list of names Tealia wanted their children to have* This is what upset him. He found it while cleaning out his childhood home.
Luna: *reads the list* SHE WANTED TO CHANGE MY NAME FROM LUNA TO PATIENCE?!?!?!
(Luna reads some more)
Luna: SHE WANTED TO CHANGE SONNY’S NAME TO TROY JR. AND JUST OUTRIGHT GIVE LEONARD DAD’S NAME?!?! WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK IS WRONG WITH HER?!?!
Tabitha: Too many things, dear. It’ll take me days to list the issues that I know about
Luna: Argh! I hate her!!! She wanted to erase you and dad from our lives, and have her and her concubine take your places, and for what?!
Trevor: Hah! Concubine! Good one Lulu!! Also, she was doing it for control, and nothing else!!
Tabitha: *nods* I wouldn’t put it past her to change you kids’ names, erase my and your father’s existence, and claim to be your parents and do whatever they can to make sure you believed them
Luna: *growls* I hate that bitch even more!
Trevor: I agree!
Tabitha: I’ll put the kettle on the fire, and prep some snacks, looks like you two are going to be rage gardening together!
Luna: Bring on the raaaage!
I need to draw the Troodon family siblings more often
Just to show off just how smol Sonny is in comparison to his little brothers and sisters, lmao
Alberta would rather date a dinosaur girl than Newfoundland…
I don’t know how to feel about that
