and      here     it     is :      the      very      face      that’s     been     HAUNTING       his      dreams ,     in    the     flesh ,     right      in      front     of      him ,     like     he      never     had     a       sword        plunged       though       this      back .       he      still      can’t      quite      make      sense     of     it     all      -----        how      he      managed      to      SURVIVE      such     a      horrific      injury ,      but      none       of       that         is      truly    important       to      him .        what      matters       is       how        things      will      change       now      that      he’s     back ,      alive       and      supposedly      well .     teeth      grit      together      as      he      FORCES       himself      to       meet       his      gaze ,      chin     raised ,     jaw      locked     in       place .       he      can’t      let      him      see      the      truth      of      the     situation ;      how      torn     apart     he     is ,       how      GUILTY     he     feels .       how       terrified      he     is      of     the      love      of      his      life       leaving     him       for       him .       no ,      he      must     be      strong .       stronger     than     he      was      that      day      when      he      killed      him       like      a      true      coward .       “oh ?”     he      asks        as       brows       quirk ,      acting      completely      unphased      by       his       statement  ,      before       asking      the      one      question     he       really       doesn’t       want      the       answer      to .        “and      what       would       that      be ,     exactly ?”

3 of my favorite people in one post ?? i have been blessed.   if you think i won’t compliment people twice,   you’re wrong.

let’s start with j since i haven’t gotten to ramble about my adoration for j yet today.   j,   i want to start with your writing because it’s just...   beautiful.   i will literally read almost everything you post just because i love the way you write.   i’m exposing myself,   but whatever.   whether it’s adelia,   silver,   theon,   nerissa,   elide,   lys,   floyd,   &&   rip me trying to name all your muses i think it might be impossible,   but seriously across all these characters there is so much variation in personality,   pattern of speech,   and even just little motifs that i’ve seen that just have me crying over your writing always.   SO THEN ON TOP OF ALL OF THAT,   j is also a really great person ??   it’s like the “why not both” taco commercial that you may not have never seen,   but please google it.   j,   you are so fun to talk with and plot with,   you generally make my days brighter when you aren’t breaking my heart with that big angst.   it’s also just so nice to see you be supportive of everyone around you and i admire that so much.

okay we get to circle back to emma now:   emma i still adore you and you are just such a bright spot in everyone’s days.  also,   your graphic skills?   wow.   i admire the edits and promos you make so much,   they’re just gorgeous.   also i do agree that janae is literally one of the prettiest people ever.   pls let me love janae sometime soon with memes and plots,   in addition to all your other muses too thanks.

bonus compliments for zara too because i just appreciate you so much and i somehow DIDN’T mention how generous and helpful you are in the last post??   like just ,, making me all these pretty icons and promos and acting like it’s no big deal when you have a whole life that you took time out of to make me something.   also that you’re sending christmas cards??   like a whole ass physical card and i’m just so touched by that thoughtfulness and you’re amazing.

it’s surprising that this rebel is speaking to her,    although her harsh sarcasm is less so.    she takes in the other’s outfit,    lips twisting into a psuedo-sneer at the pants.    lifting her chin,   she gives a little shrug,   completely disregarding the sarcasm because she’s certain that will annoy her to no end.   “   perhaps it’s because i’m not a complete barbarian.   ”   although her golden curls are quickly becoming unmanageable in this stupid forest they’re hiding her in,    and this itchy sack of a dress they’ve put her in to disguise her might convince some otherwise.   “   you know,   a little manners go a long way in attracting someone’s interest,   ”   she offers with a saccharine smile,   cerulean eyes blinking at her innocently.   as if she had manners when these rebels’ idiotic leader constantly denied her requests to be released;   no,   everyone in this camp should be well aware at this point that the golden princess has far more fiery than she first appears.   she can’t exactly help it if her beauty still attracts their attention,   though.

 her mother would say otherwise,      but   then   again,     she’s   never   been   what’s   been   expected   of   her.      a  little   portal   hopper   still   so   full   of   wonder   &&    mystery,      so   desperate   to   see   what   worlds   are   just   a   step   and   a   breath   away.     to   the   young   danger   is   so   easily   forgotten,     excused   even,     if   it   comes   with   the   promise   of   a   worthy   little   adventure.     she   is   at   her   core   a   scholar   in   the   making,     seeking   something   she   doesn’t   quite   know.      ❝   might   not   make   me   weak,     but   it’s   a   pretty   good   indicator,   ❞      the   joke   is   uttered   with   a   forced   little   smile,      slenders   shoulders   shrugging.

 the   heavy   compass   in   her   pocket   will   guide   her   home   when   the   time   comes.     palms   wiping   her   eyes    &&    steady   breath   doing   little   to   calm   her   racing   heart   down.     ❝   ’m   fine.      I’m   sorry.      I   just     -      it   was   sentimental.   ❞     locket   lost   and   her   quiet   tears   are   pushed   aside,      leaves   caught   in   soft   brown   locks:    she’s   never   been   a   much   of   a   crier,     and   someday   some   part   of   her   will   forget   how.
