New Homebrew Race!
They are super cute moth people called Lunarfolk.
A few definite things I have for them is that they have a bonus to charisma, a penalty to strength, dark vision, and speak under common.
Race backstory/description:
Lunarfolk were created when the moon goddess wanted to reward her children for their love and dedication to her. She birthed them from ordinary moths and for a long time they knew peace. That is until the sun god looked upon the Lunarfolk with envy. His children were the dainty butterflies that fluttered about in the sunlight, too self absorbed with their own beauty to appreciate their creator.
The spiteful sun god stole the Lunarfolk from the moon goddess and forced them to live in the Underdark so that they might never see her again. Many were captured and forced into slavery by the Drow and kept as pets and concubines.
They live in small nomadic tribes that wander the Underdark, hoping that one day their goddess would rescue them from the oppressive darkness.
Lunarfolk are a rare beast race, highly sought after by black market traders. They are smaller than average, the tallest males being around 5'5. They have large black eyes and two fluffy antennae to help them see in the dark. Because of their rarity and high value, females are followed by a constant male companion to keep them from being abducted. The assigned male will fight until his dying breath to protect the female. It is rare for a female and assigned male to not become betrothed later in life.
Lunarfolk make wonderful bards because they are able to produce a humming noise while they sing that makes using instruments unnecessary. They also make good rogues and assassins for their ability to move silently in the darkness.
