Killua hadn’t been one to involve himself to deeply with strangers if he didn’t have to. The habit of avoiding idle chatter with the general public had been engraved in him since before he’d left his family. They were assassins, relationships beyond ones formed through contract as client and hired knife held little meaning to them. Family, in its own twisted sense of the word held some meaning, but until Killua was much older and desired a wife would hold little meaning to him. They weren’t supposed to form connections he had always been told, killers didn’t need friends, didn’t deserve them. Well its not like Killua had been very good at listening to his family anyways, and dammit was he sure as hell curious.
He’d not been planning on intruding upon the older male while he was enjoying his sweet treat, he wasn’t really all that interesting to look at and the only thing that had set him apart from the rest of the crowd was the odd mop of hair just like Killua’s own and that mark on his face. Of course those small features went mostly overlooked as back home he’d seen much stranger features on all sorts of people, his mind was quick to supply people like Palm and Monta who literally looked like a giant bear. Now if he had that look maybe Killua would have a reason to look at him longer, then he’d be worth a second glance. So Killua went about his business ordering the biggest cavity inducing item on the menu before he turned back glancing only briefly in the direction of the man he’d noticed earlier. Something more interesting caught his attention, a screen holographic it would seem, not something you see everyday that’s for sure. He’d only ever really seen one up close when they were back playing Greed Island and that was their map that they had hardly used after meeting up with Bisky.
So Killua was a bit more interested than he was before, maybe he can manage to get the guy to let him see it, just to satisfy his curiosity.
“Oi, where’d you get that?” Killua takes the seat opposite the other man without bothering to ask if the seat was taken, “I don’t see people with that kind of technology very often, especially not here. So how’d you get it and where?”
